Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

It's a little disappointing it won't be used on all Steelbook purchases, but at least we have peace of mind for future releases and exclusives

That indeed is great news about WFRR! Worried for my Life of Pi though will it survive the long journey to India or am I going to find it like a shipwreck

Well since Life of Pi will be released after WFRR you would imagine it will be sent to the same warehouse. I hope that's the case anyway.

Life of Pi comes out after Roger Rabbit, so we should be good.

Guys I have a new update ....

MAJOR NEWS ... so read carefully!



So what this means is that if you order Roger Rabbit and Black Hawk Down (for example) that you could get Roger Rabbit in good packaging and Black Hawk in crappy packaging due to where the items are located and all the new packaging be shipped to just the one future steelbook warehouse.

Awesome news John, thanks for looking out for us as always Wonder how long they will refer to that as the Roger Rabbit Warehouse.

Well this is strange, ordered 'The Frighteners' on Thursday night, standard free shipping, and it arrived today.


Much improved from Zavvi, the future is bright indeed!

good news wreck, but actually doesn't help with other (damaged) steels. never saw an shop before they want you to pay the shipping costs for an replacement if you get an faulty item from them.

well, paypal is your friend here.. file a claim and if you're in the right (and imo you're definitely in the right), they'll help you..

At last I am experiencing the worst customer service from Zavvi. Monsters Inc 3D shipped on end of Feb by Herpes and still not delivered. Been trying to contact them for a week but no response. Zavvi CS has gone from bad to worse. Now that they got a global audience I don't know how they will sort out customer queries.

I would strongly recommended everyone to pay via PayPal as you can at least open dispute.

That company are TOTAL F*** HEADS !! Pardon my French.

Am nearly as interested to see the packaging as I am the Roger Rabbit steel. Looks like Zavvi may get this into our grubby paws without damage and ahead of release date (for UK customers at least) which is great. If they can improve customer services as well then we might start having warm and fuzzy feelings for them. Wouldn't have thought this possible a couple of months ago!

I am glad you have had a good experience with them.
For me too many to go into and I am just glad I no longer have to deal with them!! Needless to say it was so bad that I would only buy one Steelbook at a time from play so as to get it delivered by Royal Mail and not Herpes....

You,only have to google them and there are a mountain of complaints about there service or lack of it. You must have lucked out with having a good driver in your area, many others have not been so fortunate.

Anyway this thread is for Zavvi not herpes so mods sorry for going of track.

+1 Have to say I have a great Hermes delivery driver who is up at 3 in the morning to sort for other drivers then does delivery round(s) herself. Mind that doesn't excuse Zavvi sending End of Watch in a pathetic thin card envelope like the old Amazon ones, and continuing to do it for other Steels.
