Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

Yeah the Mega Monday's are hit and miss. Some titles do remain the same, but I have had some killer deals from them. Example: blu-ray box sets for a certain TV show I love. I had the first 3 seasons on DVD. One week Zavvi put each season in their Mega Monday on BLU-RAY for a tenner! Had to have!

Exactly that. Sometimes 3 days it too late for the questions you may be asking. I put a query into Zavvi couple weeks back, took 3 days to get back to me and when I did finally get a response it had nothing to do with the question I was asking, Brilliant !!!

The options on steels they are giving us at the mo is fantastic but this is all undone by extremely poor customer service.

In other words Zavvi are great until something goes wrong then its just hit and hope.
 
just received my reply from zavvi which took roughly 24 hours which is gd so hopefully they are improving that side of things.

yeah that sux, but it seems lately its been a bit better so hopefully that can continue;)
 
Made another stupid error and ended up ordering 2 of an in-stock title, both automatically went to "awaiting stock pick" due to being in stock and readily available. DM'd them on twitter, was told I couldn't cancel any of them, sent a message via message centre and got a reply overnight saying they had contacted warehouse to cancel one for me. Second time this has happened, due to my own stupid mistake so I didn't deserve it either time.
 
does zavvi charge non-eu customers VAT? If so, has anyone asked for a refund?

I just recieved 1 of my Zavvi steels today, It states Value 9.99 GBP + 0.00 PP VAT 0.00

Zavvi said both my steels shipped at the same time but I only recieved 1 today... But it was in a box with foam liner and in perfect condition!

I have. Below is the reply that I received from zavvi. The bottom line is they don't refund VAT or deduct it from the product price.

VAT is chargeable at the point of sale on all goods and services within the European Union and therefore we must charge all customers regardless of their country of residence. We are obliged to collect tax on behalf of the United Kingdom tax authorities as part of the goods we offer.

I hope this is just a one off thing, most of my orders from them have had a code used!

Recieved the same email and have just gone back and read it due to your post. It's very sneaky, clearly they are fed up of everyone pre-ordering Steelbooks for a fraction of the intended price :hilarious:

They need to be careful or i will buy my Steelbooks elsewhere* ! ;)

Ah ha! I was just about to try and use mine and checked here to see if anyone had figured out why it didn't work.

Oh, well. Would have purchased a couple of titles I didn't have, if it was a nice discount. :(
