Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

When did you place the orders and how many copies did you order per steelbook? Are those cancelled all of your outstanding orders or only part of them?

Your experience as well as others makes me really nervous about my outstanding orders.

I placed my orders as soon as the links went live for nemo and aladdin, Kill bill i ordered 2 days ago and this is apparently why the whole confusion happened as they tried to take payment for kill bill first and then for some reason for the rest of my pre orders, but zavvi told me that this shouldnt have happened as they are not yet anywhere near release especially aladdin and kill bill.

i placed an order of two of each but separately so 2 in each order.

i still have other pre orders that say processing but not sure what will happen because zavvi's mailing service messaged me saying that my orders have been successfully cancelled when i didnt even ask them to cancel anything.

The person that called me said that i will get a confirmation email explaining what has happened and if they can resolve the problem.

i will post here what the outcome is and i hope its good :)

Does anyone know if the new packaging is in use yet? I've had to deal with a couple of ultra thin jiffy bags from them within the last couple of months and I've got the Star Trek steelbook coming on the 13th and if that's damaged I don't think they'll have any to offer a replacement with!

I'm trying to place a fairly large order (a few pre orders and the Star Wars steels) via PayPal but keep getting an error stating PayPal isn't available at this time, please use an alternate method of payment. Anyone else having this issue? I've emailed Zavvi but from what most people say I don't expect a reply anytime soon.

You are not alone. PayPal doesn't work for the US orders.

Zavvi's shipping is normally quite quick to my country (South Africa), but my experience with my local post office has been inconsistent. To illutrate, I've ordered a number of items at end-March 2013 / early April 2013 and almost all of the items (with the exception of pre-orders) had shipped in early April. Some items took 1 week to arrive, and most took 2 weeks. I am still awaiting 2 items that shipped on 4 April 2013, to arrive.
 
Not sure if I asked this, but anyone know if Zavvi ships separately if you ordered 2 items on different dates, but they have the same release date?
 
Unless there is a huge price difference Zavvi is now my go to vendor for UK steelbboks. Better packaging, cheap, fast, reliable shipping and moderately better quality control than Amazon UK. Who would have thought?
 
Hi Ninja's my debit card expires in September,so I will get a new one sent out.question is will i beable to change my details for my pre-orders,such as my 3 Indiana Jones ?

massively improved for speed and packaging (have had a couple of steel books damaged even in the new boxes - but these things happen and were repaired with patience and a wooden spoon)

as opposed to a couple of weeks, discs are arriving within a week and usually quicker
 
Received my first direct order from Zavvi and was in mint condition and in their new packaging. I do wish they would do exactly like play.com though, it doesn't seem to protect the steel that much tbh.

But anyways, I'm glad it was a positive experience this time around! :D

with the new postage rates in the uk, it would cost too much to send in play style boxes - they would have to recoup the costs elsewhere. postage prices went by quite a bit recently
 
Hey guys. I hope someone can help me. How can I disable the newsletter from Zavvi? I can't stand these up to two emails with advertisement everyday. In my account settings I can't find a way to disable it. Will I have to let my account deleted?

Normally most emails have an unsubscribe link at the bottom of them. I think that's what I did when I unsubscribed.
