Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

Well, I purchased evil dead, came damaged. To be pro active, I initiated a return for the damaged one and purchased another, so I was not waiting ages.

A week went by. Nothing on the return, but the 2nd copy had even worse damage than the first. I emailed Zavvi, to say that I cannot be bothered to wait for a 3rd damaged copy and I will send the two orders separately and request refunds.

3 days later I got the click collect labels for each one, printed off the tedious form, completed it and marked in capital on both REFUND.

I Waited 6 working days and got an email saying one of them had been refunded. I emailed Zavvi yesterday afternoon, to ask them where the other refund was.

I received a dispatch email from Zavvi today, sending me out another copy of the Evil Dead!!

This is a complete joke!
 
Absolutely fuming with Zavvi!! I never recieved my Evil Dead 2013 steelbook that I pre ordered ages ago, after going through all their long winded procedures, and waited for the usual 14 days, they finally sent one out to me. But it gets better....... They send me a badly damaged one that was not even sealed but in a poly bag, which a lot of you guys I would imagine use to keep them protected, so was a blatant return!!
I am complaing big time, and want some degree of compensation for all the time I have lost sorting this out and the last 4 pre orders that arrived damaged!!
Zavvi you better shape up, or you are going to lose a lot of business from me and judging by this thread, a lot of other people are going to write you off too!! :( :(
 
ye I've been done with them a while now the last straw was star trek black thing don't change but they do seem to be getting worse at zavvi.
it's just amazon , play, and e-bay for me at the moment even my imports from Germany (through e-bay) have all been perfect.
 
Well it's now day 18 and still no refund. Don't think I can face sending yet another email, I've lost count how many I've sent now.

Remember when you could actually look forward to release day and not have to worry about this stuff.

Has anyone else noticed the new boxes Zavvi is starting to use now? They are thinner than the old boxes and no longer have that strip you pull to open. Because they are noticeably thinner, the padding inside is now very minimal too. Although both my recent packages have arrived in mint condition, overall I am not happy about this recent change. :(

Best protection -> Play.com's Steelbook box
Good protection -> Zavvi Steelbook box version 1.0
Okay protection -> Zavvi Steelbook box version 2.0 (new super thin style)
 
Seems i only got 1 partial refund of £3 in the end, not 2. The customer services guy replied to both of my threads saying ive been given a £3 partial refund but only 1 arrived in my bank.

Man these guys just love to give you the runaround. Im sick to death of it i really am. Now looking forward to the next few months of horrors.....

Yes, this issue has been discussed quite extensively a week or 2 ago when Zavvi 1st started to this crappy new 'packaging'.
 
Im actually not too bothered about the new packaging, the card box is more than strong enough to come from jersey to the uk without damage. The foam is kind of pointless though but unless something gets a severe hit i think they will do the job.

Its what condition the steelbooks are in BEFORE packing which is getting up my goat :(
 
Not happy at all with Zavvi, my original order of Evil Dead 2013 not arrived still.
So on tuesday I sent a message saying its been over 14 days and still not arrived and that I want a refund. Today I got reply saying sorry about that we will investigate and in meantime we will send you replacement!!
i DO NOT want a replacement as I already have a copy! So I sent them a angry message. If they do send replacement then I will have to wait who knows how long to return the replacement and get money back.
This makes me want to cancel my other 2 pre orders with them!
 
I escalated about the poor response w.r to the refund of Close Encounters and some senior customer service rep replied apologising for the inconvenience and offered store credit.:thumbs: I put a word to him about what Ninjas are going through in this forum and to be more attentive.

I now have 2 issues to be sorted out:

1. Chase refund of the Rambo Steels I returned which has been delivered few days back as per tracking information but nothing has been initiated. Policy says 10 days.

2. Re-return all the Evil Dead Steels as they they sent out replacements despite requesting for refund.
 
Ordered a Steel through play.com from Zavvi-shipping Date 8/7 -did not receive it- they told me to wait till 8/29-wrote them an E-Mail yesterday asking for a tracking number-no response :angry:-i Submited a FairPlay Guarantee Claim - just want what i payed for - nothing more nothing less.

I just went to cancel one of my steelbooks from a bulk order but it says as i ordered it in a special offer i cant cancel it!

WTF is this? I used no vouchers, points or anything so why cant i cancel part of the order? ive emailed customer services but im predicting the entire order to be cancelled knowing them, so my dusk til dawn will be lost :(
 
Yaaaaaaaaarrrggggghhhhhhh!! Got my replacement jungle book today and its the same as the one I sent back!!! Bad embossing!!

Really fed up with zavvi now, I have had problems with my last 3 pre orders and all of the replacements have been bad!!

I complained yesterday and asked for my email to be forwarded to their manager to see how that gets on.. no reply surprise surprise!! Will be complaining again, and to be honest, I am going to cancel all my pre orders with them now!! Final straw really!! :( :( :(
