Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

Zavvi must be running out of boxes, I just received my Dusk Till Dawn in a bubble envelope. Luckily, it was dent free. Phew!

Me too! Same movie and no signs of damage. It must be when Royal Mail see a Zavvi box that they think "I'm gunna kick your ass before you reach your destination" :hilarious:

You might be onto something there; the box my Captain America came in had a massive dent to one corner. I shat myself when I saw it but thankfully no damage done...double phew!
 
How long does it usually take to get a response from [email protected] (and is that even the right place to inquire about a damaged steel?).

Sent an email off about a damaged Taxi Driver about 4 days ago. Hoping I can get this resolved soon.


I think you should use the message system on the site first. Stage 2 will be them asking for photos of damage to the email you have already used.

I suggest you already have the pics take, to send.

Stage 3 is them offering you a partial refund, or replacement. They should send a returns form too.

My frustrations with Zavvi continue. Yet again after returning a damaged item for a refund, then waiting for 10 days, what do they do? That's right, send a replacement.

I am losing the will to live, dealing with this company. :(

Only pre-orders I have at the moment are Wreck It Ralph and Pain & Gain. After these I'm seriously going to try my hardest to never darken their door again. Enough is enough.

My favorite response from Zavvi (after getting 7 identical, generic responses) is "I'm very sorry for the inconvenience, but you're going to have to cancel and reorder" when it's an item that's sold out. When asked, their reasoning (once again, after getting half a dozen B.S., repeat, generic responses) is that they cannot amend an order that has already been placed. What the $#!+ is that?!?!

Our experiences are certainly not just isolated incidents.

I've asked them to process an immediate refund and told them I'll be keeping the copy that is currently on it's way, for my continued inconvenience. I now await one of their generic responses. :p

Update: As I suspected, comments ignored and another Collect+ and the return form to complete. Ahhhhh.....

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Yeah, if I don't get a chance to reorder my Wreck it Ralph's at some point, I'll be right there with you. Got lucky and there were plenty of Thor's to go back on sale. Hoping for the same with Ralph!

Had similar problems to mlmaier84 with my Thor and Cap orders cause my card expired. Customer service said to just follow the prompts to fix the issue but the prompts did nothing except lead me to the form to "query customer service" again...Ended up just canceling and reordering, luckily there was still stock.

I will say that cancelling with them seemed easy enough, at least in my limited experience with them. But I guess that's because the orders had yet to yet the warehouse stage.
 
I/m getting extremely fed up with up zavvi. I received a damaged Halloween and Seven Samurai and all they are going to do is offer me a 4gbp gredit for each one. These steels are garbage to as i don't open them and keep them sealed, plus most of them aren't region free anyway. they need to step up their packaging and customer service

Just don't accept it. They tried that with me for those ****** Evil Dead Steelbooks that were all scratched up and I ended up getting a 50% refund on both.

Got my 2nd damaged Zavvi steel the other day. I don't count paint chips against them.

2 out of like....15+ Zavvi orders isn't too bad though considering it has to cross the ocean and what nay. Just wish they had better foam, though this looks like it might've been dropped before it was boxed as the box was fine.

Zavvi send EVERY order individually. No matter how many items you order in one go at a time.
 
Apparently, Zavvi doesn't monitor their incoming messages through the weekend. I received an email this morning stating that they would be sending out a replacement for my mangled Thor in the next 24 hours.

has anyone in the US ever gone through the process of having Zavvi send a replacement for an item not received? i waited the 30 days and now they're wanting me to print some kind of form and hand sign it and mail it to them? is this standard? i know Amazon doesn't do that crap, they just ship you out another one.
