Hi All,

It looks like our former thread has become unavailable, so I am posting a new one. Feel free to post pics and share your worst experiences with damaged Steelbooks as received from retailers. I've stickied this one for now.

Thanks,
DB

Same here as well .. i really hope HMV look on this Thread . I still have on pre-order the avengers i'm really thinking of dropping the pre- order , its just a utter disgrace a flimsy plastic wrap ? how can that proctect a steelbook with the royal-mail

Get all these pics posted on their Facebook page. ;)

You guys can also contact their customer service, send them a tweet, or post via facebook with this direct thread link.

Just FYI.

I emailed HMV after I received my damaged copy of Rampart before it had gone out of stock online. I received a reply after it went out of stock, so I emailed them a rant about poor packaging, service etc. and how I was forced to pay more to get an item I should have received without issue in the first place. Today I received a reply to my second email:

HMV Customer Services said:

:oohyeah:

Does that mean they are not going to send a replacement copy? I got an email to say if they have any Ramparts in the warehouse when they process my return they'll send it.

I've emailed them to clarify. Hopefully they'll send me the e-voucher and then if they won't allow me to return it, i'll quote their terms and conditions :hilarious:

My Total Recall steelie arrived today in a sh*tty plastic bag from hmv with a bloody dent. Posted a very snotty post on their Facebook wall.

What's the best email to complain and request a replacement?

I always use website.se[email protected]o.uk and have never had any issues.

just received this in the mail from Germany from a seller known as "blue-masterer"
its the rare steelbook "The Woman" and i got it for around 8 euros!i thought i got a steal!
i messaged the seller to pack it with extra care and had to stay in mint condition.
i got no response thinking i was the least of his concern since it basically sold for no money at all.he offered an option for insurance but i opted not to.i sell tons of steels on ebay and insurance has nothing to do with the quality of how you package steelbooks.anyway here are some pics of my unfortunate "rare" steel :(
the guy in the first photo is how i felt when i opened the flimsy thin bubble wrap.the steel although was protected by a napkin inside.i have no idea how it could've been damaged when a solid piece of napkin held this steelbook together.

EEK! what an arse, bet he did it on purpose as I've heard good things about this new protective packaging called napkins

HMV is shipping steelbooks in a plastic bubblewrap envelope now instead of cardboard box? :wtf:

More and more, I feel tempted in cancelling my HMV Avengers pre-order.

urbeenjammin: Yikes. EEK!

Once they go back to their boxes it'll be fine again.... it's just that crossover point

I still have a steelbook preorder with HMV. Now I'm getting rather concerned with all cases with plastic envelope packaging. :ohno:
Just wonderings...has anybody ever received a HMV steel in the plastic packaging but in pristine condition?
