Hi All,
It looks like our former thread has become unavailable, so I am posting a new one. Feel free to post pics and share your worst experiences with damaged Steelbooks as received from retailers. I've stickied this one for now.
Thanks,

, as most of my returns over the past 2 years (40+) have been due to this reason. it has been very annoying when the rest of the steel is mint but the spine has score marks across it. the factory seal wrapping is always fine above but the scores are underneath the seal which leads me to believe it is a defect occuring directly @ SCANAVO. Their machinery seems to be scoring the spines (sometimes the steels fronts and backs also) during the manufacturing process before being sealed. i dont believe it has anything to do with the retailers unpacking @ the warehouses as like i said the scores are underneath the wrapping. it is a problem that needs pointing out to SCANAVO. Another big problem i have noticed over the past 18 months is uncentered spines on the steelbooks, they are always either too low or too high with the serial number on the plastic beneath the metal spine sheet being exposed which shouldn't be visible. this also needs pointing out to SCANAVO as it looks horrible on the shelf next to correctly alligned ones. i hope this gets sorted asap now its out there.
