Electronic Arts' reboot of the Medal of Honor series will be out this October, the publisher announced this morning.

The game, set in Afghanistan and with a realistic slant, will be out in the US on October 12. And Europe October 15.

Medal of Honor, the first game in the series to not take place between 1939-1945, looks set to fill a gap in the shooter market left vacant by Modern Warfare 2, when the latter tripped the light fantastic and became a Tom Clancy wet dream. It'll feature sand, terrorists being kicked out of windows, and beards. Magnificent beards.

i haven't looked at any of the trailers for this game lol, but after buying Mag and Red Dead Redemption and for people to stop playing after 1 month, i refuse to buy this game with black ops being so close to being released

Yup. Exactly! I'm tired of buying a game just cause it's been hyped up from people and everybody saying they're buying it and one month later, nobody does. Feel like I wasted my money on the game. I just may stay with BFBC2 until BF3 comes out hahaha

i didnt buy rdr for the online, bought it for the campaign. online was ok, but we hyped it up too much in may (a lot thanks to me :D)

im just not buying this game cause i learned that one shooter a year is good enough for me.

it was all you :p lol, posting all those trailers for the game, after seeing them and people saying it was good, i gave in but weeks later everyone stop playing it and 1 shooter game a year wont work next year with Socom 4 and Killzone 3 :scat: coming out

I'll play both like i do with BBFC and MW2, i like our 5-6 people groups of BBFC, makes it much easier to get in and out of games unlike MW2, also plays better.

Whatever happened to buying a game cause YOU wanted it? Not because it's been hyped or everyone else is buying? Idk, maybe I'm just old school but I buy games because I want them...:p

people don't want to play by themselves...

Especially with MP in this generation. Back on PS2, definitely bought what I wanted since everything was just SP anyway.

The main reason i wont be getting this is the price,EA prices all their game way higher than any other company here in canada,$80 for this game is just not worth it.
Plus i was not impressed with this game, kinda like BFBC2 minus any of the fun imo

Flipside is bluclan is big enough that we can split between games, that and 4 years of the same game different look is going to wear on people. People want something new, we can also make new friends...

holy crap! $80?! I remember you talking about price inflation on titles from EA but $80?! ouch...

you get charged tax from amazon.ca?

or just get it from amazon.com for $59.99 and $20 credit.

Yes amazon.ca still charges tax

If i order from amazon.com i still pay tax, well its called a brokerage fee but basically the same thing.

The only way i dont pay tax when buying from the States is if someone else buys it and its shipped as a gift, thats too much of a pain though, rather just buy games here so i can get them day 1

I think the $20 credit will be for USA only

I'd buy it for you, and have the shipping address as your address, and just give you the $20 credit on amazon. Saves you $10, you get the game, etc.

(I also have amazon prime, which i never use.)

Really just want it for the single player

Here is part of an interview from offdutygamers and Greg Goodrich

ODG] For those without regular internet access, can you speak to the length, linearity and replayability of the single player storyline?

[Greg Goodrich] The storyline in single player is told through a series of chapters. The first chapter consists of intelligence gathering, establishing the TOC1 and then moving the AFO2 Teams into the mountains. Once “big army” arrives in the second chapter, and 1/75th Ranger lands in the Shahikot, it’s pretty much “on” at that point. A pivotal moment takes place at the end of the second chapter and the game takes on a very different tone at that point. I don’t normally like to estimate game length because no matter what I say, I’ll be wrong.

So instead, I will give Off Duty Gamers an exclusive that we’ve not talked about anywhere else. We have a separate game mode that was built with replayability in mind. It’s called “Tier 1 Mode”. Basically, it’s an “insane” difficulty mode where we track player performance online. It places the gamer in the most extreme playing conditions possible and is geared towards the hardcore gamer. There are par times and a leaderboard that will tell you how you’ve done in comparison to your friends and other players around the world. You can stop the clock with certain achievements such as consecutive headshots, melee kills, and other performance streaks. I’ve not been able to finish the game yet in this mode, but a few of our testers have done it
