I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

i need to change my credit card on two pre-orders, what is the best way to go about this?

I'd like to help you, but the only advise I can offer is to call Zavvi regarding why you need to change it. If your card hasn't already been charged or the item has not yet been dispatched I think you can just go to your account, locate your card information and change it, I think I read somewhere on here that the order will reflect the latest card addition. If all fails, don't do anything until your card expires (presuming that is the issue) and Zavvi will let you know your card could not be charged for said reason and you'll be able to enter the new card and thus success :)

The short answer is, you can't, unlike Amazon where you can change the payment details relating to any order. If your card has expired by the time they try to take the payment then you just have to let the payment fail and correct the details after they contact you about the failed payment.

I had this issue when they pushed back the release date of Up from February to March, as the credit card I had used expired at the end of February. When I contacted Zavvi to try and change the details in advance, this is the response I got:

"The system does not allow for card details to be amended or changed once the order has been placed. When we try to take payment for the item the status of the order will enter a payment problem stage. At this point you will be contacted via email and should be able to enter the new card details to resolve the issue."

As I have stated in other threads, I think this represents very poor customer service and just creates more work for everybody.

I ordered There Will Be Blood from Zavvi when it first went live. It got cancelled without any notification. I sent three separate queries to Zavvi and I got back three identical, generic responses. Oh well. I am done with Zavvi. I would rather my money go to companies like PA with high quality products AND excellent customer service, both of which Zavvi lacks.

PA? They just released their first product whereas Zavvi releases 5~10 per month.

Actually, PA had released a few products before the Wrestler, and gotten excellent reviews for their customer service. My point was not to compare the two companies, anyway.
Also, sorry but I don't follow your point. Are you saying that releasing 5-10 products per month justifies a company's terrible customer service?

No he's saying that it is a lot easier to have great service if you're a small operation that sells a handful of products at a time, rather than a retailer that sells thousands of products. If your point was not compare the two companies, then you failed because that is exactly what you did.

Got a pretty bent Point Break steel from them and it's obviously because of poor packaging. Sadly they're out of stock, so no replacement for me. At least I'm getting a full refund.

They are selling soooo many steelbooks but they are still not able to offer a good packaging. It's just sad...

I have ordered a lot of Steelbooks from Zavvi and I have to say that their track record for me is pretty good so far. I only had one Steel that arrived damaged and they eventually replaced it. I had another that did not show up at all and they sent another so they will continue to have my support at the moment. While their packaging is not as good as it once was, the new packaging still appears to be doing the trick for me.

I've only ordered two from Zavvi and both came in perfect shape. You need to remember that Zavvi offers .99pound shipping to international customers (no idea what cents is called in pounds?lol) not sure if we can expect a huge box and bubble wrap out the wazoo for so little shipping cost.

I have no complaints yet for them, takes about 6 days to get to the U.S. and that isn't bad at all.

I usually order 1 steel per shipment. If I order 2 at the same time, is the shipping packaging any better or worse?

Though the packaging looks a bit soft at first sight and I think they could improve it, I have to admit that I've bought more than 30 steelbooks and all of them came in perfect condition.

in this day and age a very antiquated service-I have purchased from Kimchi and PA in the last month & both sites took the paypal payment straight away-would rather pay for steel books up front like this to secure a collectable than have to face the Zavvi credit card lottery...

Plus they would be legally bound to honour the order and not just cancel it when it suits them.
I only have 2 pre orders with Zavvi, I am so glad I am no longer bound by them. At one point I must have had 25+ pre orders with them! but then I thought **** it I will wait for the inevitable price decimation. Have The Wolf Of Wall Street pre ordered as I got it for just over £19 but if amazon restock and sell it cheaper that pre order is canceled without delay.

Also is it just me or have Zavvi quietend down a bit lately? Maybe those end of year figures weren't as good as they'd hoped for.
