Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

Robert, I'm afraid you don't seem to grasp the tenet of the term 'ethical'

And no matter what you say about 'not selling out as they have done' the point is they are not selling out to the general public, as for every 2 thousand limited ed perhaps half of that is going to the scalpers who stockpile and look for mugs on ebay etc to pay inflated prices.

Of course businesses are there to make profits, but those that do so by unethical methods will sooner or later find themselves brought to book.

You may laugh, but it is already happening in many businesses - coffee, sugar, bananas - all those businesses, and more besides are changing for the better due to the pressure being applied to have them trade in an ethical manner.

Just checking , are you equating the "ethics " of a company not limiting sales of items to one per person to the ethics of using slave labor , or low paid labor.

Surely the point of a ltd edition is that somebody , somewhere , is unlucky and doesn't get a copy.

We all miss out.
 
Just had a reply to my query about twbb and fdtd as I managed to get orders in for both but I had no dispatch notice, have been told they are both out of stock with their suppliers but as soon as back in they will dispatch, so looks like I won't get either
 
I got 101 Dalmatian last week in ruined form. Dents everywhere and spine is broken from top to bottom. They offeren me 10% at first place, I told them that I can not accept 10% that way. Now they offered me 30%. Steelbook is ruined, it is impossible to use it as a collector item. What should I do? Why do they insist about not giving full refund as it is their fault because of cheap boxing??? Any opinions?

Its upto you what you want to do, either accept 30% off and keep the dented steelbook or say no and I want to return this for a refund.

In regards to your second query, they have not said they do not wish to give you a refund. The obvious answer it is cheaper for the company to offer a discount then to have it returned.

How do some people know if some specific release is coming "live" to pre-order on some specific date? I have subscribed to Zavvi's newsletter and I never receive information like that? Actually I barely receive any steelbook news at all even though I have ordered multiple steelbooks from them.
 
I thought I ordered FDTD sucessfully, I then received an email saying they were in contact with their suppliers, and it will be despatched shortly. Then today, I get an email from Paypal saying they couldn't process the payment. Despite the fact that after placing the order for FDTD, I made a further order (which was despatched on Wednesday) and then placed another order YESTERDAY which was also despatched today - all three orders made with the same card, and when I checked my account this morning, sure enough there were still plenty of funds available. So what really happened is they processed too many orders for the amount of stock they had, and rather than just put their hands up and say "oops, we goofed" - they decide to make up some crap about payment not being able to be processed because of a problem. That's what peed me off - not missing out on the steelbook (I mean yeah, i'm a tad peeved) but the fact they can't just say "whoops, our mistake".

Miku, welcome to HDN:) They do tend to send out some e-mails occasionally, but you can stay tuned to our Steelbook forum, where many announcements for Steelbook pre-orders from all retailers are posted. In addition, any 'on sale' 'oos' and other more timely 'alerts' are also often posted in our stickied Steelbook price drop thread here https://www.hidefninja.com/community/threads/37901/. We also often let members know of news and on sale alerts via Twitter and Facebook (see my sig).

I'm not sure how this whole new Zavvi WEA 2000 print runs work. I was under the impression that the lowest print run was 4000 units. When other's have done limited runs say of 1000 copies the rest usually end up being released in other parts of the world. So if Zavvi truly have World Exclusive Art where are the other 2000 copies going?

Are they the copies that end up on Zavvi's other site's .es .nl? Something just seems "off"!

I'm sure this has been discussed just can't find that said discussion. :p
 
I finally got my first order from Zavvi and must say I'm pretty disappointed since it was shipped in a little cardboard box that had no bubble wrap or protection. The steelbook came dented and bent. How are they about returns and exchanges? It seems like they ship all of these steelbooks in single boxes with no protection as I got another that was luckily fine.. but this is SCARY!!

I´m buying a lot from them but NEVER recieve any other emails then the ones after placing an order and any dispatch emails....
I know news are often posted here but emails are quite comfy and due to this problem I´ve also never recieved any of the xx% off codes people are posting about...
 
The steelbook came dented and bent. How are they about returns and exchanges?!

Here in the UK it's a pain - cant imagine they'd bother from the US (meaning I'd expect them to send a replacement NQA)

Have you checked Spam Mail? All my Zavvi emails (apart from
Order / despatch notices) were going there - once hotmail new they were safe no problem :?

I ordered Thor Zavvi exclusive on Zavvi.nl saturday when it briefly came back in stock.
Received my confirmation email with a dispatch date for today.
However I did not receive a dispatch order.

Could it, being back in stock when it was OOS for quite a time, be an error and I Will soon receive a cancellation email? :-(

I understand this is disappointing, but if you wish to cancel your order, you can make this request through your online account.

The order should successfully cancel providing it has not entered our warehouse for processing. You will receive an email shortly after making the request which will let you know if the order was cancelled.

If a charge has been taken for the order, then a refund will be requested upon cancellation and the money returned to your account within 3-5 working days.

Oh. My. God. Unbelievable. These pre orders are for Beetlejuice, Mars Attacks, Godzilla, Ultimate Avengers Collection and Robocop (2014). Robocop can be cancelled/re ordered but the others are long since sold out.

Does anyone have any advice? :(

Bah, too right. I didn't wanna say anything though :p

So I've just found out that my card doesn't expire until the END of May - not the beginning. Someone fed me false info on that one. So crisis averted for the most part. Godzilla and Robocop re-ordered on a credit card for now though, while all the sold out May releases will come off my debit card as normal.

Now, that only leaves me with Captain America, which most certainly will not come out in May and has sold out....

Why is this even an issue? I was able to change my card details on the Amazon website fer crying out loud. Why is Zavvi unable to do something so simple? :-/

I'm sure if you allow the details to expire and the payment to fail, Zavvi send you a notification and you're able to amend your details at that point.

This has never happened to me but I've read about it on here.
