I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Lol :hilarious:

Guess it is better than nothing but the mailers are so tight the steelbooks are squeezed inside :(

I have a few steels on preorder with Zavvi.
Sometime this summer i'll get a new creditcard with a new cardnumber.
What will happen with these preorders ?

Beng, they may send you an e-mail to change your payment info as the old card won't authorize. If you don't change it within a specified period of time, I believe they'll cancel the orders.

unless they´ve changed their system.. afaik you can NOT change CC details now..
KEEP THE ORDERS as is.. do NOT contact customer service (they might just delete them and tell you to order again)
as soon as orders are ready to ship and they´ll try to charge your card you´ll get a payment failure email.. with the option to update your card details...

No, I am not happy with zavvi.

They mixed up my Hercules steelbook order.

I have now a Hercules DVD on order for €25.00 with dispatch date of the steelbook.

And why the h... are they not able to amend the order? It's their fault, not mine.

This is what I got in reply:

I am really sorry, once an order is placed I am unable to amend it.

I understand this is disappointing, but if you wish to cancel your order, you can make this request through your online account.

The order should successfully cancel providing it has not entered our warehouse for processing. You will receive an email shortly after making the request which will let you know if the order was cancelled.

If a charge has been taken for the order, then a refund will be requested upon cancellation and the money returned to your account within 3-5 working days.

If there is anything else that we can do, then please do not hesitate to get in touch and a member of our team will be happy to help.

Kind regards,

Moony

Just cancel it mate and then re-order the steelbook when it goes live again.

They always go live again closer to release. Just keep an eye on the thread for updates.

There's NO 25 € DVD of Hercules at Zavvi, so how could they mix up your order?

Don't think cancelling the order is a good idea. When it's gone it's gone and there's no guarantee you'll ever get one after you cancel. As long as you're still on the order list you still have something you can refere to. If you cancel you're out and can't prove anything if there really was a mistake in your order.

If price and release date are the same as the Blu-Ray steelbook it can't be a regular DVD in my opinion. Even if they can't change your order they can confirm what you've ordered if you ask for it e.g. because the details are confusing and don't match. It's either the Blu-Ray steelbook or a much cheaper DVD. Not a combination of both.

I asked them twice to change my order to the correct one and they refused, saying they are not able (or willing) to amend it.

I will cancel and wait for a re-listing (hopefully) or might have to trade on HDN.

I'm not happy with their customer service, most other online shops would have changed the order.

Well, before ammending, correcting or cancelling anything let them confirm what exactly you have ordered. There's NO such item that matches ALL of the mentioned criteria (format, price AND release date). So let them explain THAT!

However, if the item is sold out and you're not on the list, how should they be able to give you something they don't have anymore? Makes no sense to me.

I already sent them several emails explaining what happened in my opinion.
I always get the answer they cannot amend an order.
CS never even mentions the discrepancies in my order. They just ignore it. Even make it sound like it was my fault. No apologies.

I'm sure I will get Hercules later somewhere else - it's just the way they deal / or not deal with a long-standing customer.

Zavvi have sorted out mine now too...

They offered a 15% refund... to which I said no and queried the packaging, I then get the below response:
"Hello Kane,

Thank you for getting in touch about your order.

I have looked into this for you and I have requested a refund for this order for you.

I will pass your details over to the relevant department regarding the packaging as we are currently looking into new options.

I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

If there is anything else that we can do, then please do not hesitate to get in touch and a member of our team will be happy to help.

Zavvi.com Customer Service Team"

I expected a 20% offer to come next or please return for refund.... :)

But they are always so happy to help you if you have further questions! :hilarious:

Guess I would keep asking them what you have to expect on release date and not even mention a change or ammendment. One fine day you'll finally find the one from the CS crew who knows the difference between DVDs and Blu-Rays. If you're lucky he also will know somebody who knows what a steelbook is. :p

I received 2 Steelbooks from Zavvi today (and another 2 from The Hut) all in dented/bashed Amazon style A1 mailers... I really hope the Steelbooks aren't damaged, I haven't been able to check yet due to being at work.

What's happening with their packaging at the moment? Even the white boxes with the wafer thin foam was better than this.

I received the same stupid 15% refund e-mail for the damaged Mars Attacks, I told them why should I receive a partial refund on something I can't possibly use. They finally e-mailed me back saying I would get a full refund. If they continue to use those stupid A1 envelopes I will be canceling all my pre-orders, they really thought I might be willing to take a partial refund on this?

EEK! A serious retailer wouldn't even ask if you'd like a partial refund. It should be obvious!

On the other hand it's not completely useless. I can think of many things it can be used for. In it's second life. ;)

Amazon uses A1's too but at least you get an immediate response and a much better customer service experience.

It baffles me how retailers put steelbooks in a thin cardboard envelope and ship it overseas. They clearly don't know what steelbooks are. Zavvi is supposed to be the home of steelbooks, they should know better.

Honestly, I would pay the extra money to have Zavvi go back to using the white box. Although not a perfect package, it's much better than what they are starting to use now.
