Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

I inspected my copy and to the left border I've noticed some lines, I don't know if it was me from holding it. Thought it was mint, I guess there's no such thing as a "mint steelbook" these days.

Those corner tears are about the only thing the "foam" inserts help to prevent. Otherwise they are worthless for protection.

I got another steel the other day shipped inside the same cardboard envelope. I hate to say it, but I think this is the way going forward. They might as well cut prices on steels in half at the same time, because I am not interested in buying steels with poor packaging.

Most of my pre-orders are for August so I won't get any rewards from Zavvi, time to start sourcing SteelBooks from elsewhere whenever possible.

But you already got the reward points for your pre-orders regardless of the release date! They were added to your account upon checkout. You only won't be able to get new ones after the deadline. For my understanding only new purchases are affected and you'll keep whatever you have on your account.

My Rewardz History only show points from orders that have been posted, none of my pre-orders show there so I'm assuming you only get them once the order is completed i.e. dispatched.
From their site "These are the Rewardz points you have acquired from making and completing previous purchases on the website."

I had 4 steels today from Zavvi/The Hut, all came in cardboard envelopes similar to Amazon A1 mailers with a single piece of bubblewrap around them (didn't even go all the way round it) I was amazed to find all but one OCD mint even so.

My copy of V for Vendetta arrived dented, I've ordered another via Amazon from Zavvi Outlet and will simply return it if this one is too.

They dont mate. Only orders that have been shipped get added to reward points :thumbs:

This is indeed correct. However, when you place an order with them, you will be informed of how many points you will be awarded for that order. That information is also stated on the order confirmation e-mail they send you.

Obviously, those points aren't actually awarded until the order has been completed, otherwise people who had cancelled their orders would also benefit.

Interestingly, my most recent orders with them, which were placed after their announcement was made, still received confirmation e-mails stating the number of points which would be awarded, even though the titles will not be released until some time after the cut off date for awarding points.

The important question, therefore, is whether Zavvi will honour its commitment to award points on orders placed before the cut off date. There's certainly a moral obligation to do so. Whether that translates into a legal one, I don't know.
 
It's pretty shocking zavvi told so many people they had none and this is the second time it's come back for sale on the outlet.
 
It's bad, I spoke to a customer service executive absolutely useless.

So many people who ordered it day one have to accept their pathetic partial refunds for damages steels and then they have more, is sad.

We have been testing new improved packaging and the cardboard envelopes should not have been used, as this is the case we would ask that you provide images of the packaging and your order number and we will then be able to pass this feedback on, and take relevant action regarding your damaged item.

Chris sorry to sound abrupt but are you taking the piss out of me saying steel books should not be sent in this card envelope packaging !
I have just received all my 3 toy story steel books this morning and again all 3 were in the same **** card envelopes !
I will be making a trip to your offices this week as I have completely had enough of the **** service with damage time after time.
It's becoming a lottery if you get a good damage free steel book and it's not good with the likes of V for Vendetta limited to just 2500 units.

No all 4 steelbooks had no foam whatsoever and if it did it is as much use as wet toilet roll !
I will be calling over this week or next to speak with a manager as this as now being going on for over 18 months and all we keep hearing is we will investigate the issue ...... load of bollocks fella sorry.

Will you please call me and explain the position and my refund.
If I have to drive over I will bring the damaged goods with me and also be claiming my travelling costs back.
Fed up with all this send pictures bollocks it's as if you don't believe people and basically calling me a liar.
There would be no need for all this hassle if you packaged properly , it's just total **** these excuses now as we have discussed these issues for well over a year now !

Just take a look at this thread mate and the comments on the way zavvi are treating customers.
It's does not make happy reading and I can see Zavvi losing loads of loyal customers including myself who spend hundreds of pounds with you on steelbooks.
Please make sure my next steelbooks that are sent are packed properly or the **** really will hit the fan so to speak mate.
Please can you call me after management have read these posts and advise if this activity will be continuing on future orders.

I am sorry for any frustration that has been caused. I can see that this has been removed from our Amazon outlet, and have asked that the team look into why this was listed when no stock was available. As Kieran had advised this item is out of stock and we are looking to source more from the studio, as this is the case I have now requested a replacement for your order, this means that if more stock is sourced your order will be replaced automatically, and there will be no chance of this item selling out before we are able to replace it for you.

THIS MORNING


AFTER ALL THIS I GET YET ANOTHER ****** cardboard mailer containing a replacement V for Vendetta and upon opening the envelope I get a UNSEALED steelbook with dents and scratches !!!!

Off to Zavvi this week in person and it won't be a happy visit also going to trading standards this week with my facebook pm thread also.

And before anyone says I came across abusive yes I did as this as been going on for nearly 16 months with damaged steelbooks and all I keep getting is we will improve and investigate.:angry:

So I am expected to be ok with someone's damaged unsealed steelbook hey Zavvi !!

The post made me laugh. Im in a battle at the moment over my cocoon steelbook. Massive 2 inch scratch and they are arguing about giving me a replacement. They want to give me a 15% refund. It isnt sold out so i do not see the problem.

My V for Vendetta never arrived so i missed out as there were no copies left.

No copies left , Hmmmmmm a bit strange that they have them right now on Amazon via Zavvi outlet despite in my chat transcript above they telling me they pulled them down.

Whilst I can understand people's frustrations, that is no excuse for being rude and abusive.

Rude & Abusive !

I have put up with damage for 16 months and sent photo's after photo's to prove damage and basically been called a liar.
All you keep getting is we will improve the way we operate , I think you must have the patience of an angel if you would be calm after about 40 damaged products !

Sorry fella but enough is enough and even worse is they simply can't be replaced.

Zavvi are a company that does not care for any customer just profits and more profits.
NO CUSTOMER PHONE NUMBER and DISHONEST about their products and the REPLACEMENT service is an utter shambles
