I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

No copies left , Hmmmmmm a bit strange that they have them right now on Amazon via Zavvi outlet despite in my chat transcript above they telling me they pulled them down.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00KP94O9E/?tag=hidefnin-21
I ordered it on Monday via Zavvi Outlet in the hope of replacing my damaged copy from eBay and it was dispatched yesterday, so they're clearly lying when they say they have no stock.

Having seen your post I'm now really hoping I don't get a damaged customer return. :ohno: If I do that's going straight back.
Just to follow up on this, I received my copy of V for Vendetta today minty mint. New & sealed, no damage (other than the "shrinking" on the corners that every copy apparently has). :oohyeah:

zavvi customer service or lack of it...

never had a problem with zavvi until now....

ordered f&f 6 with the art cards only a tenner so i thought why not

and what arrived? the standard version...

so i contacted them via the website(have tried ringing but just get a answering machine msg)

and what a NIGHTMARE!!! i have been past from one department to a over it takes them 3-4 days to reply its been well over a week now and im no further foward to either getting a replacment or refund

this has certainly made me think about using them again in the future regardless of there exclusives

zavvi customer service is a joke infact its stretching it abit even calling it a service

they clearly don't care about what quality of service they give to there customers and if this is the level of service you get they dont deserve any customers at all

So are they still sending steelbooks in cardboard envelopes? I want to order something, but I might just wait a little longer.
Both of mine today from Zavvi came in cardboard envelopes, V for Vendetta had the thinnest layer of foam-y stuff around it you've ever seen.

Serenity came in a padded jiffybag which was inside the cardboard envelope (perhaps because it was a US Import and arrived in it?)

What are steelpacks? And are they the same size as steelbooks?

most likely they´re saying SteelPacks to make em sound more attractive to the SteelBook collector.. most likely these are FuturePaks, which is just a revamped version of the MetalPak

So all dimensions should be the same as a regular steelbook?

yes... they should be the same more or less.. but they come with these dreadful hinges and thus with a not very attractive looking spine....
overall - IMHO of course - these feel and look cheap compared to SteelBooks
here´s an unboxing video of one of the UK FoxDirect exclusive FP´s (check from 6.30 for a detailed look at the hinges problems)

Are these exclusive to Zavvi?

It doesn't mention it so I assume they will be available elsewhere?

Soooooo, does anyone know what the Steel Packs actually are? It's nice of Zavvi to introduce something new, but why is it they are so scarce on the details?

To me they look similar to the Dutch 'Metalpaks'. :dunno:

No idea why Zavvi are calling them 'Steel Packs', I assume they're the same as Future Paks, FoxDirect at Play.com was carrying them before with 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' and 'Fight Club'. Assuming they are the same, by the mock-ups posted. They are rather nice actually. I don't think they're worth £19.99 though!

Just wanted to post this new verbiage on the Order Cancellation page:

I agree, some of the artwork is amazing. It's a pity Fox couldn't carry the quality of that over to their Steelbooks.

I had an item dispatched on 09/03 that went missing and I'm still waiting for a refund from them.

I had to jump through hoops to get a claim form from them which I emailed back to them about a month, but after getting my bank statement today I noticed that i still haven't got my money back.

This is the first time I've had a problem with them and I've got to agree with everyone, their customer service is absolutely horrendous. I've just sent this message to them, hopefully they'll do something this time.

Hi, I emailed you a copy of the claim form for this order around a month ago, but I still haven't received a refund.

This is absolutely ridiculous, you've now had my money for over 3 months and I think you owe me more than just a full refund.

I suggest that someone in your company looks at the retailer feedback on the steelbook forums at Hi Def Ninja. Your customer service is a joke. I also had a package go missing from Amazon a few months ago and my refund was processed within an hour of sending them an email.

I'll be putting a copy of this email on Hi Def Ninja.

I ordered the Jungle Book and was meant to be (estimated) dispatched yesterday. However it hasn't moved from processing status still. I would assume I will be receiving an email to say it is not available now.
