I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

I have in the past yes. But nothing out of the ordinary. I spend more money than what I return. And I only return if they are damaged upon arrival which is my right.

Steelbook collecting with the likes of Zavvi / Amazon are becoming a ball ache now.

Ah that could be the issue. It's ridiculous and doesn't seem to matter that people spend a lot of money from them and maybe return less than 5% of that and they still seem to do it. I have even heard recently that Amazon have started to do it as well it's insane. But I know Zavvi do it and they have people over a barrel as you want the items but then know you kinda can't complain so have to keep damaged stuff or don't buy it all :(

I've already received the dreaded warning email from Amazon ... The next email is the account suspended email.

I am shopping on there with caution now. Last resort. And i've been told to always choose free gift box options if available to ensure my steelbooks are double packed which is something I wasn't doing in the past.

Oh no I'm sorry to hear that, how much would you say you had returned to Amazon? Just trying to gauge what they seem to think is too much. I expected it of zavvi but to hear people say Amazon are doing it aswell is awful.

Ive been seeing this too. Not liking it. Yes, it might be an error but this is also a cheap way to delay cancellations making them void.

I can not cancel an order on zavvi. When trying to cancel I see this message:

Sorry
Oops, our fault!
Please click here to return to the home page.
I have been onto Zavvi past week about this on twitter

They asked for my order number I replied that's not what I want
I told them to fix the website so customers can cancel on-line any-time so the customer can do this by themselves without the need to use the contact us website option or to have to send a private message using twitter or Facebook

The only way at the moment you can cancel an order with the website is to use the contact us option
They will cancel but you get a reminder in the reply mail
Did you know you can try to cancel an order yourself online?

- Simply log on to your online account.
- View your outstanding orders.
- Click on the cancel button.
- You will have the choice to cancel the entire order or just part of the order :LOL:
:hilarious: Considering that don't work at the moment

This all started just before Star Wars Steelbook was due to be released :squint:

You can still cancel an order if you use the contact us option but that has a problem they don't reply until 24-48 hours so that is not much use if you need to cancel quickly before they charged your debit card because by the time they reply it might be to late to cancel

Zavvi replied their IT Dept are looking into the website issue
Over a week now this issue with not been able to cancel an order using the cancel button on-line

IT dept have not done anything to fix it and is to much of a coincidence it started with star wars steelbook release date

Customer goes to cancel on-line and gets that Sorry Oops, our fault! issue
Zavvi then hopes the Customer gives up attempting to cancel their order and not use the contact us option

Zavvi better fix this website error issue before the end of this week so it's back to normal and customer has ability to cancel any order instantly without the need to use the contact us option

The payment problem email has a time limit I think it's after 3 days they then auto cancel your order if you not used the link in the email

Their website at the moment is annoying the cancel order option is not working you have to use contact us at the moment to cancel an order
Which is not good if you want to quickly cancel an order before your card is charged

Paul I hadn't heard anyone mention that in a while about the cancelling so I just tried it out and put a pre order in for huntsman and i was able to cancel it straight away like normal. Seems ok for me, have you tried cancelling anything recentley?

They must have fixed it in last few hours
It was still not fixed this afternoon

Look at Zavvi help twitter for all the issues in the past week since 18th April
You can also see about this in the retail thread

Oh ok, just see it, haven't been in the retailer thread for a while.

I selected cancel button and chose reason and then next to the item selected the one item (with the arrows) and put the same reason in again. Selected cancel and cancellation processing. I cancelled something the other week too and that cancelled also. That was after the 18th. Strange

Anything bought as part of a "Buy one, get one in-stock cheaper/free" promotion cannot be cancelled - in other words, if you recently pre-ordered the new STAR WARS 7 steel together with the in-stock REBELS steel in the GBP 34.99 Promotion and took delivery of REBELS before STAR WARS was dispatched you will not be able to cancel the STAR WARS.
If you could cancel the STAR WARS and get a full GBP 24.99 refund you would have bought REBELS for 10 quid which may be OK for you but may not be OK for Zavvi . . .

Changing card details: In my experience, now not a problem as they will message you to give you the option of paying by some other method / with a different card and as I always keep details of two cards with them I don't find it a problem to change payment details (or even ignore the message and let the items cancel if I decide I don't really want them at the price or for some other reason such as "doesn't look good based on in-hand pics posted on this type of forum").

Cancelling orders: The advice before was "Order now just in case it sells out and cancel just before dispatch if still available, not enough cash in the bank etc."
HMV has no automatic 'Cancel" facility, for example, and you have to message them with a cancellation request - hopefully Zavvi does NOT go down that path as that will put a strain on their already s t r e t c h e d customer service operation.

Regarding cancellations of goods bought online and the Law - and I'm sure it has been mentioned before - but, anyway, a few words on the subject could do no harm :-
1) Your right to cancel an order starts the moment you place your order and doesn't end until 14 DAYS from the day you have received the goods.
2) If the order has not been dispatched cancellation may be difficult - don't know Zavvi's cancellation time limit for this type of thing but some companies request cancellation notices to be placed WITHIN 30 MINUTES of placing an order, while other companies may allow UP TO 24 HOURS.
Of course if it has been posted to you already you can always return it for a refund (see (1)) although you may have to pay postage to return it if not damaged (and not suggesting you damage it . . . ).

Naturally hoping this inability to cancel an order / pre-order is just a glitch in the system and that they haven't closed down the facility of ordering now "just in case".

Hi,

I have received my copy of Planet Earth today, only to find that the extra disc Planet Earth - The Future, was not included, as stated on your website previously, which has now been changed..
Reading through the thread: https://www.hidefninja.com/communit...h-blu-ray-steelbook-zavvi-exclusive-uk.75206/. This seems to be a real issue, and not a one off, so as the description of goods for sale does not match the website description of goods sold, as Zavvi are legally responsible to supply goods as described as per both UK Consumer Rights Act and European Consumer Rights Directive.. (Excerpt from Paul Boland's post #109 ).

The next question is how will Zavvi compensate the 1500 or so customers who have purchased this version, expecting the bonus disc to be a clinch for purchasing this version.
I can only see one of the following options, either supplying the required disc, or a monetary refund of x %, not a voucher, or an optional return and refund with P&P included, with the first option to be most important to the customer, I believe, unless anyone else can provide a alternative plan\options.

Thank you for taking time to reading this, and look forward to a positive response.
