Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

Now that the € prices have gone down a bit, is it cheaper to order in € or in £ and pay via PayPal? For example the price for the Die Hard 2 steelbook is 17,25€, but when I try to find out how much 14,99£ would be in Euros, it says 17,41. So the zavvi € price would be a bit better.
 
I sent a e-mail to [email protected] with some photos of a damaged steelbook and received delivery notification e-mail that delivery to that address failed. Anyone knows what is going on with zavvi customer service?

I recommend contacting them via their facebook page. I have never EVER had a response by emailing their customer service email address but I always get a response from facebook, usually no more than a day.
 
I'm new to steelbooks, and I've read a lot of zavvi complaints on the various boards. But I've received 7 steelbooks so far from them - all in perfect condition.

I have mixed feelings about their last few remaining button.

I cross checked some titles and on play.com 1 title featured in this section had 96 left, all good so far then i checked their ebay and it said 887 left.

I think they are lying and using this section to artificially hype titles up and lure people to buy them thinking they might miss out.
 
Have they started doing that now? (changing print run numbers) that's just wrong is this why were not getting the print run on some steels when there live are they waiting to see how they sell then they can make the print run what they want?

More devious tricks by zavvi more and more there looking like a dishonest retailer they really need to fix these issues before there rep take to much damage.

Imho if this is now what zavvi are upto on top of everything else there doing with 1 disc editions and huge price hikes I may have to shop elsewhere if it continues.

A shame since some of zavvi stuff is good price and quality cs needs to be better tho I hope they fix this before it's to late and with hmv coming back online at some point another steelbook retailer to contend with.

Really angry :angry: with zavvi right now. Why offer a Pre-order Price Promise when they don`t keep it. Just recently zavvi reduced all the Euro prices for almost all Steelbooks. I contacted them and asked if my items on pre-order would receive the lower price when they ship and was told that I would receive the lower price if the Item has the Pre-order Price Promise. All Steelbook Pre-order Items have this promise. A few days ago I got the shipping confirmation for my Taxi Driver and Close Encounters Steelbooks. Shipping confirmation and Account both showed the old price of 18,75 Euro, which is 1,50 Euro more than the new 17,25 Euro price. For some reason the Pre-order Price Promise was removed from both titles (I guess because they start shipping). I asked about the problem and was told that the account sometimes does not update and that I should check with my bank to see if I was charged the lower price. I just received my monthly Credit Card noticed and it shows that I was charged the higher price of 18,75 Euro. I never assumed something else. I contacted them again and I hope that I will get a refund now. Anyway I have spent the last hour to cancel orders and reorder them for the new lower price, so that I don`t have to waist any time over this again when the other items ship.

So great Pre-order Price Promise :angry: zavvi, what a joke.

How ridiculous. Keep us updated on what happens next. Hope you get it sorted without too much hassle.
 
Yet more announced steels from zavvi. More obscure titles with 4k printruns. I seriously doubt they will sell out of some of these. If zavvi dont calm down they will be able to build a new warehouse out of overstocked steelbooks :hilarious:

They still have stock left of really well known universally liked stuff so god knows how they hope to shift some of these like warrior and the game. I think they will have to start reducing some of these to shift them...

I agree they should be thinking quality not quantity come on zavvi 1,2 or 3k releases now and again would be nice something unique and how about instead of two titles release both so/so what about just one with a lot of art/effort/thought for the back,front and inside put into it. :thumbs:

Why we haven't seen big trouble in little china is beyond me with smoking art done properly this would sell like hot cakes. :oohyeah:

I've also noticed that warrior and pans lab, to name but a few don't have the 4k run limit inside the description tab is this so zavvi can increase the run AGAIN? :angry:

Please ensure that if indeed limited to 4k (which imho all titles should have a max run of 4k with a few small exceptions maybe) then please label them as such ltd. to 4k and don't change it your sales etiquette is completely out the window here. :emb:

More info on print run ,finish,gloss,emboss etc. that's what we need and you need to implement and stick to it if you wish to not only keep customers but acquire more. :cool:

Their discount codes are annoying. They never work. The June code didn't work, JULZ50 didn't work and neither does JULZ60 (£6 off £60) despite having put in my basket items for which it should work :

I added OldBoy in the basket, it still didn't work. I know it doesn't work on Thor, Captain America and The Prestige, but for those releases there should be no problem.

I'm buying everything again because Euro princes dropped (items that used to be at €19.99 are now at €18.39, items at €18.75 are now priced at €17.25), so I'm already saving a little bit by doing so but I'd appreciate if discount codes truly worked.

Other than that, on the print run issue, I personally don't care about that, if many people get to have the same steelbook as me that's totally fine, I'm not in the business of reselling stuff I buy.

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere.

Like many others, I've had to contact Zavvi about changing my address. I ordered the first 3 Indiana Jones steelbooks when I lived at a previous address. When I knew I was moving, I made sure all further items were sent to a different address and also saved it as my 'favourite address' on their website.

Now, I know their customer service is supposedly bad, but have they ever given a reason as to why they will only cancel an order and not change addresses? I wouldn't even mind so much, but when you can have several address on their site at once, and have already had deliveries safe and sound to the new address, I fail to see why they can't simply untick one option and tick another.

I'm of a mind to simply let them send them (as and when they're released), let an ex-neighbour forward them on, and claim they never arrived and get my money back.

So, why won't they do the most simple of tasks like Amazon, Play and everyone else?

This may be silly one but am tad bit worried , ive few steels pre ordered with Zavvi 3 in total the 2 evil dead steels and the new rambo my concern is when do they take payment? they all under the same order as i used a voucher code to save %10 the 2 evil dead steels have an estimated shipping date of 05/08/2013
and the rambo is showing as 12/08/2013 .

Sry for the noobness of my question just ive never actually preordered a steelbook before lol :emb:

Am i right in saying they will take payment for 2 evil dead steels in an around the 5th of aug and payment for the rambo around the 12th??
 
yes you correct usually a few days before unless it's in stock a little early but they will only take the money for the items they have in stock.
in your case they will take the payment for your two evil dead close to the 5th then about a week later your 1 payment for Rambo.
