Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

I was banned from their Facebook page by a overzealous member of staff, because I dared to complain about pricing of the Fast and furious steelbook. I never used profanity and my complaint was not aggressive in any way. Their customer service have now apologised for this and I have decided to draw a line under it and move on.
 
Received today Close Encounters, damage (bent on the front side). Send straight email to zavvi and lets hope i will get an answer back quickly (full refund or a replacement)

Well that's me done with zavvi just cancelled all orders (£350) worth and had them close my account.

This is the 3rd chance I gave them and the huge amount of problems are still happening.
this time it was about an order I could not amend because I used a 10%off voucher they sent me now all items were 10%off so why should it matter if I want to change the quantity I can understand not adding to an order to benefit but removing a pre-order item from 3 items down to just 2 they said i would have to cancel the whole order WHAT!.

It wasn't as if it was one of those spend £50 get £5 off were if I cancelled an item it would fall below the £50 threshold there for unable to change the order.

Why send a 10% discount code then tie the customers hands it's stupid.
How zavvi are still in business is beyond me. it's there loss I spent about £1500 there last year so may not be much to them but it's still £1500 less this year and I can't be the only one with these problems.
I can't wait for the return of hmv. no more zavvi ever again.

I did take part in a survey they did some time back and then entered a competition to win a £100 voucher.

Haha. I was totally honest. I've had my issues with Zavvi, some not so good and some (most) very good and I told them that. But truth to be told, they've fixed my issues without to much hassle.
 
Just found out that Zavvi gave me a £3 credit for the trouble that I had with them, never expected that so that's pretty good on their part.
 
Zavvi reply my message (quickly reply) for the damage Close Encounters. They want me to send photo of the steelbook and they will reply me later with their final decision.
I hope i will get a replacement or full refund.
 
Zavvi just cancelled my huge order (had previously cancelled lots of orders to combine them all into 1). Over £800 cancelled for no reason. I just sent them an e-mail because I cannot even reorder From Dusk to Dawn now even if I wanted to. :(

Sorry to hear that leshita. trust me your not the only one it's happened to.

Do they usually reinstate the orders or will I need to reorder everything again?
Ye sorry but you will have to reorder this is a problem for those pre-orders that have sold out.
As to why they do it I've never got an answer to that question I don't think anyone has this is just one of zavvi's many many flaws this is why I no longer shop with them.

Just look at this thread zavvi haven't been doing steels that long yet they have the most posts and views than any other retailer that's shows that in such a short time doing steelbooks they've managed to cause so many issues and problems way more than any other retailer that's been in the steelbook business for years (play.com & hmv) for example.

We need hmv back amazon need to take a stronger roll in steelbooks because zavvi will not change as they've promised me so many times only to find it's just the same.
And to think we lost hmv and play.com and zavvi survived the world has gone crazy talk about moving backwards.

Again leshita I sympathise.
