I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Not sure if this is the right place but I have a horror story with Zavvi. I placed an order for Aladdin in June. My mistake was not double checking my address so the steelbook would not be deliverable. I immediately contacted them letting them know and I would get a refund when it came back to them.

I contacted them a month later asking if they received my package, they said no and international orders could take months.

I contacted them again in September asking about the whereabouts of my steelbook or refund. I get an email that states I would get a refund shortly. I wait and I still see nothing. I contacted them again and they said that I was pass their 40 day refund window and I wouldn't get a refund.

I contacted them in July asking about my package, did I have to specifically announce that I didn't receive my package? Or am I in the wrong and should just take my lumps.

I think you should talk to them again and explain your situation and tell them you've been in touch several times. The person who mentioned the 40 day refund window probably didn't know you've what you've told Zavvi in the past.

If any of you recall my post from about a month ago, I had received 12 steelbooks, 9 of which had damage of some type.

The newest batch came in over the past two days and I thought I would document how things went this time.

I received 6 steelbooks over the past two days, and am happy to say that I am pleased enough with all of them. It's strange... The previous 12 all came with the newer, thinner foam insert as did these, but while the majority of the previous ones were damaged, basically none of these 6 were.
Actually, The Sixth Sense does have a horizontal scratch through the word "Sixth" but it's not enough of an issue for me to really worry about.
The others all look to be pristine, even after opening them up and checking under the jcard which was an issue with multiple steels from the previous batch.

A couple things I feel have changed;

#1 - Zavvi must have upped their quality assurance procedures or something, because these were not full of rogue scratches under the wrapper/jcard that obviously didn't happen in transit.

#2 - While they kept the same thin foam, I think that these new thicker jcards that completely cover the bottom and back seem to have kept the steelbook safer in the box and may have made up for the lack of padding.

Overall, I am pretty happy with what I have received from this batch so far. I still have 5 more on the way, so if anything changes, I will update.

What happend to the good Steelbook packaging?
I've received Iron Man 3 some days ago and it was "wrapped" in a thin piece of.. well I have no idea how to call it.. packaging paper :(

Fortunately it was not damaged

@Wreck: Do you know why the "thick" packaging material was changed?

I have a question - I lost my credit card which is on file with Zavvi, I now have a new one which i have now added as the card on file with Zavvi but all of my pre orders still have my old card logged against them, will they try and charge my old card then when it fails try the new card on file?

On one of my orders i have used a discount code applied and 1 item shipped from this order so am not able to cancel?
Also have steelbooks on pre order like from dusk til dawn and the 3 indiana jones steelbooks which are sold out so do not want to cancel these and miss out!

Any feedback would be greatful, cheers

Have you e-mail Zavvi to see if they can change those pre-orders to your new card number, or ask if you need to do so or is it ok so long as they have a card number they can use?

Yes and funny enough they just replied to say they only take the money on dispatch so it shopuldnt be an issue but if there is a payment problem they will email, i will know next week as gremlins shoiuld be dispatched which is set up on the old card.

I haven't checked this thread because till now I never had an issue with Zavvi.

How do I contact Zavvi regarding a damaged steelbook? Their new packaging is worthless and my copy of The Little Mermaid has one horrific dent. This is completely unacceptable.

Thanks,

Thanks,

By email from the site. And good luck with that. I have received 5 responses to my first question that still has not been answered due to them sending auto responses. You may have a faster response and not an auto generated response by going to their FB page

This might sound like a silly question, but how do I use my "rewards points" to get a discount? I have 426 of them just sitting there. not sure if thats worth anything but thought I'd ask.

Should be a blank on the Cart page around where you put in the discount codes. You have to be logged in first for that to appear. You just type in the number of points you want to use.

Thanks,

Yeah, I just got a badly damaged Tron. The whole lower right side is caved in and bent up. Sad thing is the box made it in perfect shape. Once again, we have a QC issue. I sent a message on their site.. so we'll see what happens.
