I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Are there any current Zavvi codes?

Yes DEUT10 works for 10% off. It seems to work on all 'in stock' items but the pre-order items are very limited. It only seems to work for:

Big Trouble In Little China, City of God, A Clockwork Orange, Howl's Moving Castle, Invasion of the Bodysnatchers, Kick-Ass 2, My Neighbour Totoro, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Ponyo and The Stone Roses: Made of Stone

It was working on The Lone Ranger and Planes, but it looks like it no longer works on those two.

Anyone know how to change your address on existing preorders? I have several orders that I placed with a code, and since placing the orders, I moved.

I already deleted the old address from my account and added the new address as the default delivery address. My old address is no longer associated with my account in any way.

BUT!... it must still be the address attached to all my preorders, because I just got The Rocketeer, Sixth Sense... etc delivered over a week late because of USPS forwarding. Zavvi sent multiple orders to my old address (the address I placed the orders with) even though I changed my default address on my account long before ship date for those items.

I contacted Zavvi through their awful messaging system, and as expected, I received a canned reply that did not correctly resolve anything.

If someone here at HDN and read and understand/interpret english and formulate an appropriate and intelligent reply, that would be lovely. Apparently Zavvi cannot manage this.

You better hope that you don't get your steelbook damaged like mine because Zavvi apparently thinks it's not their problem and would only give you £3 instead of replacement. Such a customer service!

Unfortunately mine has arrived damaged. Has a knife type mark all down the front of the card which has dented the front of the steelbook. Also a huge scratch on the back. Never had to contact Zavvi before. I'm not looking forward to that, and will be looking to HDN members now for advice in the Zavvi thread.

^^^ ricster - just seen your post in the "last steel acquired" thread and thought i would try and help out :)
If you email them they will reply in about a day, so i would suggest calling zavvi, they will make you send that back before a replacement can be sent out. They send you a free-post collect+ label to post it. It will take around 3/4 days to get there, and then they send out your replacement, they will send you another dispatch email for the replacement with retail price, but you won't be charged.

I have only had to do this once, and i had my replacement within a week of posting the damaged item back, so not too bad. Also when on the phone ask them to package it better, you never know your luck ;)

Hope that helps buddy

Just looking on their website now, but not seeing a phone number under contact us. Looks like online messaging only.

Unless you have the phone number that you used cheers?

EDIT: Just tried the above numbers and the 0844 one worked with a message saying logon to the website and send a message.

How long do you guys normally wait for an item to arrive to the US from Zavvi before calling it "lost" and asking for a refund? My "insurance" copy of The Little Mermaid has yet to arrive. The first one arrived last Saturday, which was already a few days longer than I expected...

UPDATE:

Thanks for the posts and PM's. I rang Zavvi via all three numbers. Last number was the outlet store and the only number I got to speak to someone.

They took the order number and said they would pass it on to the website department as they do not have a direct line. In conversation I mentioned HDN a few times. They told me to now fill in an online message from the order in accounts.

Did that, again mentioning HDN and a link to the post on this page. Then as zoneism pointed out, emailed them the same message.

3 minutes later recevied a collect+ label with free of charge posting back to zavvi.

So far, so good.

Sorry ricster, i forgot that they don't have a customer service line, i remember looking for one for ages, sorry buddy...

Anyway, glad you got your postage label so fast, hope you get your replacement soon mate

I contacted them this past week over a spine slash on my little mermaid. They asked for a photo. I provided one. They said they would send a replacement. No mention at all on whether I need to return the damaged one. I am satisfied with the outcome, well at least so far! =)

I'm curious about this as well. My copy was shipped on the 18th and I've yet to see it.

Living in the USofA, I understand that I will never get a Zavvi preorder on release day. It just isn't going to happen.

But for those Ninjas that live in the UK, I can't understand why they are unable to have fresh Zavvi releases in their mailboxes (or whatever you Brits call them) on release day.

The term in the UK would be letterbox. And I agree I don't see why they can't be shipped for delivery on day of release. I could perhaps understabd for new releases the studios might not like some getting it early. But for catalouge titles than have already been released and our now getting say a steelbook what does it matter if someone gets it a day early?

But at the end of the day whilst it is midly annoying to have to wait, the more imporatn thing is that it arrives undamged.

and just out of interest has anybody ever asked Zavii why they don't ship for delivery on release day?

Started the return process again. Got a few things of my chest in the accompanying message as well.

My latest encounter with Zavvi...

- Ordered Little Mermaid
- Little Mermaid doesn't turn up
- Waited the obligatory 14 days then reported it
- Completed the 'Non receipt of goods form' and emailed it back requesting refund.
- Received an email saying 'Sorry the goods are faulty - please send photographs'
- Replied saying 'goods not faulty, can't send photos as it hasn't arrived. Please refund'
- Received reply saying ' Thank you for the photos. we will look into this'
- Bangs head against wall.
- Reply stating' No photos were sent. Item didn't arrive. Please read my emails. Non receipt form completed and sent back. Please refund.'
- Received reply saying 'Sorry, please can you send in a signed Non Receipt Form'
- Bangs head against wall.
- Reply with form I had already sent in, and once again request refund.
- Received reply saying 'We have sent this off to another department'
- Awaiting refund

Sigh....

They need to start actually reading emails and responding appropriately.

HDN needs a 'bangs head against wall' smiley
