I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Regarding Price deals with Zavvi anytime I've purchased a pre-order in which the price was lower than the final price they honoured it. The same with flash deals. Never had any problems in that score. I would check my account to make sure what they were taking out was what was stipulated on the receipt.

You just be one of the few I've never had them honour it they always say prices are subject to change or some excuse :(

What are Zavvi like when it comes to returning an unwanted item? I've only ever had to return damaged items, which is tough enough... but I've heard stories of them refusing to allow people to return perfectly good items to them unless the customer pays the return fees themselves. :ohno:
Zavvi will only pay for the return postage if the item is damaged, defective or if they have sent you the wrong item. If it's unwanted or no longer required then you would sadly have to cover the return cost yourself. I think most retailers have this policy though, not just Zavvi.

By law they have to sell you at the price agreed. So if they say £6 and suddenly ship it charging you £15, you can return it and ask for a refund. The 1974 sale of goods act allows you that. So it's not in their interest to try and rip you off as they are the ones out of pocket. Yes an items description can be subject o change but as far as the price goes, they have to sell you at the price stipulated on your order. Unless it's a major cock up on the pricing and I mean a major cock up on pricing they have to honour their agreement.

Well I was charged £19.99 for terminator when others were later charged £14.99 both preorders but was told that prices are subject to change. Happened similarly a few times, bought a pop funko and hadn't even received it when they reduced

So many items that people have bought over the last few days now cheaper so will be cheaper before you've even got them :(

Also loads of discount codes don't work :(

You can't really expect a company to pay return postage because a customer has changed their mind over wanting an item.
You can when your experience with returning unwanted items to other retailers (Amazon, Play, ASOS for example) has always been that way... no matter what the situation, I've never come across a company that's made me pay return postage, but maybe I've just been lucky then. Plus it's Zavvi's fault I'm having to return it anyway.

For me it was the principle of the thing, it's dishonest (in my mind) to have a flash deal and then offer the same item even cheaper just a few days later when the item in question hasn't even arrived.
Second message from Zavvi (lack of) Customer Services basically told me to go suck eggs :(

Amazon kinda did the same thing but usually with them if you go on chat they'll refund. Didn't buy it but an example, they had family guy 1-14 box set on a lightning deal for £27.99 on Friday then yesterday it was only £25?

Ah Zavvi, I fell for one of your Black Friday week flash deals earlier in the week and now you have the same item today for £5 less; will I never learn? :bag:

Afternoon update - Zavvi (lack of) Customer Services have advised me to cancel the order (which has already been despatched) as they are unable to amend it

Was that back to the future?
If so me too, and good morning vietnam and many others which later reduced by an extra quid. Lost money on Black Friday, they know how to do a deal.

No, in my case it was a Martian Notifier smart watch which is a Christmas present.
Zavvi really know how to make people lose any faith in them, they just don't want to be trusted.

Some odd price increases, good dinosaur up to £29.99?

Dead poets society was £9.99 yesterday and now it's £19.99

Yep, they're refusing to pay return postage and want me to pay the costs.

Here's what happened... I made an order which I then decided to cancel the very next day (I don't think it had even been 12 hours by this point). So I requested the cancellation and never heard back... usually I get emails within minutes to confirm that an order has been cancelled, but not this time! I even contacted them on Twitter (they ignored me) and by email (got a generic response). The following week the item arrived at my door, even though it was showing as "processing" on Zavvi's site and still was days after receiving it (they only changed the status once I pointed it out to them). So not only did they not cancel the item, they sent it without telling me it had even been dispatched. :banghead:

It sickens me that they're able to do this to people and get away with it... I've come across more honest/genuine sellers on eBay. Now I understand why so many claim that they're the biggest scammers going! They don't see customers... all they see are dollar (or ££ in this case) signs. :greedy:

slightly of topic. Did anyone order the £29.99 offer for the classic TV show Avengers and receive them yet. My copies haven't been sent out yet the same items are now back up to £70 and available for dispatch. Anyone know what's going on. It's been over a week since I ordered and no dispatch notice yet. Getting seriously pissed off here.

Had 5 steelbooks arrive today 2 are badly damaged and being sent back, National Treasure 2 and John Carter.. Still waiting on another 6. Not a good ratio. This is happening with every order. About 50% gets sent back which is forcing me to buy 2 of everything and sending a damaged one back if I want any joy in collecting.

Maybe Amazon in the U.K. is different, but here in the U.S. Amazon's policy is to charge return postage if you're returning an item because you decided you don't want it anymore. Then again, the last time I thought about it was several months ago so maybe they recently changed their policy.

First order placed with Zavvi back in late October - 5 steelbooks.
Only 4 arrived (rather quickly), but I had to wait the full 30 days to file a claim.. claims process took 3-4 days after which they said they were re-sending the missing one.
Got a ship notice on December 3rd, so I'm hoping it shows up any time now..

What was the issue with Ant-Man, heard a lot of people lost their pre-orders? I was lucky to snag one when they e-mailed me saying they had some of that and Agent Carter left in stock. I think the current run of phase 1 Steels they've brought out look bloody awful though.
