Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Got Rodger Rabbit with the new packaging and its a def improvement

That's unlucky mate. My steel is still shrink-wrapped. From looks of it, it's not damaged.

Looks like zavvi is using upgraded packaging for Pre-ordered steels only, applicable for Roger Rabbit and upcoming ?

I received my End of Watch steelbook in the new box today. It was shipped from Guernsey, unlike any of my steelbook orders of late.

My copy of the Godfather Trilogy arrived from Guernsey this morning in their new packaging. Definitely a vast improvement. box was a little bowed due to it's thinner dimensions and the foam. All good though.
Have no qualms about ordering Steelbooks from them in future.

Received my copy of Roger Rabbit today... in the new packaging.
Of course, the steel arrived dented on the spine.

How can anyone be satisfied with this packaging ????
To say that the cardboard and the piece of foam are thin is an euphemism ! That can't protect anything when the parcel is sent overseas...

All I have to do now is to decide if this dented steel is worth a refund or not... because of course a replacement is impossible

Waiting mine to arrive (hopefully this week).

As I said before, zavvi was not a choice for me for a long time... and now they want to be the new steelbook home. I was very disappointed with this, but I hope that everything will change.

At least we know that the have their ears open in these forums.

This is why I said the packaging is not good enough for overseas delivery as it ain't that sturdy or thick like the Play.com packaging. Returning is going to be difficult if you remove the flap like thingy.
