Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

I'm sure this has been discussed here already, but I am not finding it, so I'll just ask.

Is Zavvi's Rewardz points system broken or something? You are supposed to get 1 point for every £1 spent and paid, right? If that's true, I am missing enough points to buy a new Ferrari I think.

Here is an example of 4 orders from my previous orders page. None of the points are even close to my £ spent totals. I have several pages of paid orders and none of the total points awarded are correct.

Am I misunderstanding something here?

Mine are all screwed up as well. I have given up trying to understand how and when they are applied.
I am just happy on the rare occasion I add things to my cart and the window to apply reward points is there as it usually isn't.
 
I agree with hubmuswell. The new packaging is perfect for uk customers. The sides are very strong to the point where you need excessive force to even squeeze them with your fingers! The sheet of foam is a nice touch to stop things moving around in transit.

They are doing the job perfectly as everything i receive in them is mint.

Eh, it is what it is I guess.

Did you have anything through them? If so I hope your luck is better then mine.

My only pre orders from them were star trek and aladdin . I have wreck it ralph pre ordered .I had a few others but canceled and will risk getting later on.


I dont like putting all my chips in the same basket except when it comes to amazon around the world. I try and go with amazon when I can ( since I have the visa card and im not charged with exchange rate fees).


I do think its BS they are just random cancelling like they are.
 
Zavvi are pissing me off now. The @ZavviHelp twitter account say they cannot change my delivery address as do the customer services. Has anyone got a direct email for them please?
 
if the standard amaray cover on a steelbook with gloss+no embossing is all it takes to make collectors happy, then i really dont understand why zavvi is struggling so hard

I've also asked them if I could change my delivery address on a few pre-orders, they said their systems do not allow this, so I'd have to cancel and re-order, except the orders I was inquiring about are all sold out. Idiots!

I think high quality will always make collectors happy. Artwork is very important, but in the end of the day, a high quality steelbook goes a LONG way in making any artwork look so much better. This Tangled steel, even with the same art as the amaray, looks AMAZING. Combine it with the great pic on the lenticular and even the regular version slip, and I think it will be sought after for a long time.

The folks at Zavvi would have to be hiding in a cave in the mountains to not be aware of the difference in response from the steelbook collecting community.

Tangled from Korea trumps The Little Mermaid from Zavvi in ALL regards. Not one aspect of The Little Mermaid is better.

I've used discount codes on mine, and a couple of my orders are also sold out.

Absolutely terrible customer services IMO..... don't know what to do now

Seriously though it is bad from Zavvi. A lot of these issues have not been resolved despite being discussed on a regular basis. I think Zavvi's website and systems are fundamentally flawed. I haven't really had an issue with Zavvi and they are often blamed for a lot of things that aren't really their fault, but no-one can dispute whether issues such as random cancellations, lack of options when it comes to pre-orders and poor customer service need to be addressed. Those are basics that even the smallest of retailers have managed to get right.

it has a way better front artwork imo
 
What happened with the quality of borders of embossed Steelbooks? As Henke007 mentioned in the Little Mermaid-thread, it's poor compared to the early FS/BB releases. It's bent and flimsy (i.e. Mermaid, Close Encounters). I don't know whether other retailers suffer the same qualityloss, since I only order from Zavvi nowadays...
 
Wow never thought I would say this but I would like to compliment zavvi on their service.

Received a load of steelbooks from them today & 3 had paint loss in various places.

Contacted them via facebook at 10.30am & had a reply at 1pm saying to send pictures to their email address.

I thought here we go it will take 2-3 days to respond.

But just received 3 RA's & 3 collect+ labels.

Well done Zavvi.

Just hope you supply the requested refunds & not replacements.;)
 
So apart from extreme prices, lazy Steelbook designs and poor customer service, they suck at processing inquiries too: every #$)#(*$ message they send me, is being sent twice :S That's it, cancelled all my outstanding Zavvi orders. "Home of Steelbookz" my :ass:
