With recent discussions I thought it would be good to set up a thread for low print runs on metal packaging. Steelbooks, Iron Packs, Vivas etc are all game

Please chime in with what you know and I will aim to keep this thread as up to date as possible. I guess if we stick to under 4k units per release for now and then we can make a call if we want to include 4k at a later date. They don't have to be different or unique artwork and I'm not focusing on value, so this is about the lowest numbers released either by country or through retailer exclusives.

I don't normally add Futurepaks or Metalpaks, but with the Fox Direct ones announced as being limited to 500 each I thought they were worth including

I would like to suggest that any customized stuff consumers are doing with their steels after they purchase at retail do not belong in the lowest print run, because it simply is not true and would be misleading any collectors. I don't consider the stuff HDN does after they buy the steels as a print run or any other modification or add ons to the steel that was purchased at retail. Do you see where I am coming from?

If these so called customized steels are to be considered print runs then that means anyone can buy a steel and customize it and it automatically gets put as a low print run which is false.

As ever chip, I'm always open to suggestions. I see where you are coming from but I'm not sure why it bothers you so much lol

I've already added a bold 'custom' or 'prototype' next to them and there are only a handful which have been included because they were suggested by others as well as myself. This is a good guide for collectors but is still a fun thread and I feel they are just as valid as long as they are flagged as being unique or 'unofficial'.

My feeling is that certain collectors who like to chase the really limited print runs might also be interested in the limited custom stuff as well. That Eragon prototype has re-sold a few times on the bay for fairly decent amounts so kind of backs this up.

Tell you what I'll do bud... give me a few minutes and I'll set up a spin off thread to house the customs and then I can just link to them from here if people want to see them. Sound ok?

Might be wrong OR missed it carn't see Pacific Rim Japan THINK it was a 1000 print run .
