With recent discussions I thought it would be good to set up a thread for low print runs on metal packaging. Steelbooks, Iron Packs, Vivas etc are all game

Please chime in with what you know and I will aim to keep this thread as up to date as possible. I guess if we stick to under 4k units per release for now and then we can make a call if we want to include 4k at a later date. They don't have to be different or unique artwork and I'm not focusing on value, so this is about the lowest numbers released either by country or through retailer exclusives.

that steel is nothing special...if you click on the link,the OP picture is wrong!

this steel has the same artwork as the korean or JP one
it has no sticker or slip like other TW releases just a barcode sticker around the spine and nothing else:movie:

I was holding off to see if there were any differentiating features so that they could be distinguished as 2 separate runs. I hope so, but if not I then wanted to try and find out how many of the 'defect' run actually made it to market before the 'recall', as I expect it wasn't the full 500 if they kept a load aside for returns etc.

So it could end up like 400 & 500 for example, or 900 combined if you see what I mean

While we know these were super limited I've not been adding anything where I'm unable to back up the low print runs. There a quite a few of these Korean releases that fall into that category

I'm looking for info all the time but if you find anything to back up those numbers then please post a link

I cant back them up, but in the Bourne Movie Collection thread I noticed people didn't seem to keen on paying that kind of dough. Kind of spendy and it still went OOS very fast.

Sherlock holmes I know is a very low print run. I sold one a few weeks ago for $250. It was the only one ever listed on ebay and was sold within a matter of hours I think.

There is no proof of any of the print runs other than Prometheus at 800 and a couple of the yet to come out ones from Japan. The others are speculation. I have a pretty good handle on what the runs are as I am the largest dealer of Korean steels in the U.S.

Well I don't distrust you bud and am very aware that you are an authority on Korean steels, so I guess if I chuck them in the 200 run section for now then we can always move them if we ever get any more info further down the line if they are lower

$250 is a great result on SH btw
