I believe this is a new plan to make sure they don't oversell by a large amount, such that there are not a number of disappointed buyers.

Remember that play's system is manual allocation, so it works a bit different than systems you might be used to - like amazon.

That's what the poster on AVF who works for Play.com said that they are balancing supply and demand now for this type of item.

So this coming in and out of stock repeatedly will happen again with other titles

I don't think you should be worried. It's when they're stuck at 'order placed' or 'awaiting stock' you should be concerned.

That's just Play's ordering system. It means you've got your copy.
