Zavvi Pre-Orders

Hi
Does anyone know if when you pre-order from Zavvi if they take the money then or at time of postage ? I know Tesco take at time of order but amazon and sainsbury at point of posting.

Many Thanks

Already signed up for redirection but Zavvi doesn't always ship via Royal Mail. They sometimes use private carriers like Hermes or Yodel who will return the package back to sender if the recipient has moved out.

I already canceled many pre-orders but reordered few via PayPal.

Cancelled everything except the 4000 print run disneys that have sold out and are selling out. No more for me. Also gonna stop buying most stuff from Europe as well. Gonna just stick with Korea, TW and U.S. for now on and the occasional blufan. **** it. Too many stupid stores that keep on ******** on the customers. Zavvi is on my **** list.

I have to agree with you chip.
I think a lot of steelbook collectors are reaching this point.. Just way to many releases and re-releases to afford and keep up with..

It is going from there being a few select, well made and hard to find a steelbooks to "oh crap, I didn't check my computer for 30 minutes and they released another 50 steelbooks.. O_O...
Zavvi being one of the worst for releasing every movie known to man in steelbook form and very few being decent quality..
I'm trying to cut back to Disneys, Marvels, lenticulars and a few other select titles here and there.. Just too much junk anymore..

Zavvi lying bastards... This is what is stated on their website:

''Pre-order with confidence here at zavvi.com with our Pre-Order Price Promise! This means that from the day you pre-order the product, if the price goes down before the release date, we'll charge you the lower price! A win-win situation, this price promise is applied to Blu-rays and DVDs, Xbox 360 and PS3 games, and many, many more products. Jump ahead of the queue with this fantastic pre-order offer, and take advantage of our promise with the bonus of free UK delivery.''

OOO, but not on EXISTING ORDERS. Than why the hell would you even mention a ''pre-order price promise'' if it doesn't count for PRODUCTS YOU PRE-ORDERED (EXISTING ORDERS)?

Criminal bunch!

Zavvi lying thieves are at it again!

Zavvi's fake pre-order price promise states the following:

'Pre-order with confidence here at zavvi.com with our Pre-Order Price Promise! This means that from the day you pre-order the product, if the price goes down before the release date, we'll charge you the lower price! A win-win situation, this price promise is applied to Blu-rays and DVDs, Xbox 360 and PS3 games, and many, many more products. Hahahahahaha, they're a bunch of criminals! That's what they are at Zavvi!

A lot of members here pre-order Wreck it Ralph at 22.99 and some with the 3 GBP discount code. They listed Wreck it Ralph for 19.99 a while ago, but they don't want to adjust the price of those who pre-ordered with the discount code!

Meaning: they lie about their pre-order price promise. There is no such thing as ''pre-order price promise'' at Zavvi. If there was, they would have adjust the price to 16.99, but they don't.

Don't even try to defend this with your ''only existing orders'' argument. Pre-orders are existing orders. If pre-orders aren't ''existing orders'', then their ''pre-order price promise'' will never apply to anyone (discount code used or not).

I am glad I cancelled all my orders and returned everything. There must be a law against some of Zavvi's business practices. I will definitely look it up.

Oh dear. You might want to check the terms and conditions before you rant like this.

I'm pretty sure there are no laws against Zavvi's business practices. You could argue that some are unethical and I would probably agree, but they are not illegal.

That HDN offer is pretty pointless now because Everyone who ordered for the original price will get it for £19.99 due to the pre order price promise!

Meaning that their pre-order price promise is a lie.
If it was true, they would have reduced the price (22.99) to 19.99 - MINUS the 3 GBP discount, since the discount has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PRODUCT PRICE. The product price decreases, but the total price doesn't!

As I posted in the retailer thread, their terms and conditions state that orders made with discount codes are excluded from the pre-order price promise.

It doesn't matter what crap they write on their website. They do what they please!

And let me explain it to you like this, since you're apparently unable to understand what I mean:

- I pre-ordered Wreck it Ralph at 22.99. I used a 3 GBP discount.
***THE ORIGINAL PRICE IS STILL 22.99, NOT 19.99. IF I DIDN'T USE THE DISCOUNT, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN 22.99***

- Zavvi reduces the PRODUCT PRICE to 19.99 before RELEASE DATE.
***ACCORDING TO THEIR PRE-ORDER PRICE PROMISE, THIS WOULD BE THE NEW PRICE:

Original PRODUCT PRICE: 22.99
New PRODUCT PRICE: 19.99
- Discount used: 16.99

The discount has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PRODUCT PRICE.

I used a discount code, and I expect that a webshop respects that discount code. Now, NOTHING IS DISCOUNTED.

So either their ''pre order price promise'' is a lie, or ZAVVI FOOLED THE MEMBERS OF THE MOST DEDICATED STEELBOOK COMMUNITY BY OFFERING A FAKE/MEANINGLESS DISCOUNT CODE.

I don't care what they write in their terms and conditions to cover themselves. It doesn't change the fact that what they do is wrong. It doesn't change the fact that it makes them the WORST, least customer friendly steelbook retailer IN THE WORLD. They are lying and greedy money wolves!

Exactly. Zavvi has fooled the members of the most dedicated steelbook community with their FAKE DISCOUNT CODE.

No one is forced to buy from zavvi. We all have a choice, least we are getting some quality steelbooks like this one.

And i have to agree with snooloui, any discount isnt covered by the price guarantee. If getting a discount is all your interested in then maybe steelbook collecting isnt for you then imo
