Hi Guys,

I had a response from Zavvi earlier today regarding my damaged V For Vendetta steelbook, it was....

"One of our customer services advisors has reviewed your query and we are able to confirm the following:

Hello David,

Thank you for sending in a picture of your damage item.

Again I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused to you, I will be happy to refund 50% of the item for you as mentioned in your email and I will request this for you today, if this is not something you want to accept then we will have to ask you to return this for a full refund.

We ensure all of our items are sent out safely and protected, out of the thousands of Steelbooks we dispatch daily, it has been proven after a survey that there is 1% of damaged steelbooks which on all occasions we will provide resolutions for, unfortunately the Steelbook you have received is out of stock therefore we cannot replace this but again we are offering a solution.

I will request a refund for you of 50% off the V For Vendetta - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook. I will also pass all of your feedback over to our Customer Operations Department to be looked into with regards to the packaging of our steelbooks.

I am again sorry for the inconvenience this has caused to you and if you require any further assistance in the meantime then please do not hesitate to contact me."

So Zavvi have agreed to a 50% refund at least!!!EEK!...didn't think that would happen...so guys if you have a damaged one go for it!!!!
What interests me is that paragraph....

Well obviously the first sentence is a load of bull**** as these steelbooks were obviously NOT sent out PROTECTED in any way whatsoever!!!..as for the statement about the PROVEN survey has anybody here ever taken part in a Zavvi survey?????:hilarious:....what a total load of PR bull!!!!!....so all steelbook runs have a 1% damage rate....well i think V For Vendetta has smashed that made-up figure and must be running at something like 20%+...:hilarious::hilarious:...as most of Zavvi's steelbooks have an "Ultra Limited" or "Limited" run even 1% is unacceptable in my eyes!!!!...as damaged steelbooks will not be able to be replaced!!!
Offering a solution my arse!!!...50% refund is an absolute minimum for this debacle!!!!...a solution to steelbook collectors is to put them into bloody premium packaging for the goddamn prices we pay for these things!!!!:angry:
Now there seem to be rumours that the A1 cardboard mailers will be the norm with a flimsy piece of foam!!!! :wtf:!!!:angry:...if that is true Zavvi might just as well shut up shop because i believe steelbook collectors will not be prepared to take a chance on steelbooks hopefully arriving safely!!!!

Zavvi claim to be the Home Of Steelbookz!!!...in fact they don't give a flying f*** for their customers and are just in it for a quick buck!!!

What do you guys think???

I'd love to know!!!

P.S. Zavvi will be getting an e-mail reply from me regarding all of this and i WILL ask about their future packaging plans for ALL steelbooks!

well I received the Toy Story steelbook today... it came in a carboard envelope like V for vendetta... luckily it was mint. The same with the percy jackson steelbook i ordered as a birthday present for my brother, I had to open it however because the disc was loose.

Luckily it was mint too.

1% yeah right. I might need to post a shovel to Zavvi HQ. some serious shovelling of BS is now required.

So basically, don't expect Zavvi to change anything soon, as our complaints are small fry.

I got offered a 10% refund. Wow. I'm so excited. What to do with my potential £1.49 refund. :hilarious:

If you can get 50% off WE ALL CAN.

I have told Zavvi as much too. They need to have consistency with offers of settlement, not on how long the complaint message is.

Did someone say that Zavvi have confirmed that this is to be the standard packaging from now on?

Has anyone recieved any of the import steelies from Zavvi yet? Just wondering how they are showing up? Tempted to order a couple.

I am very upset to say save your money I received 7 of them in a plastic bag today it was one of those thin plastic mailers, no padding no protection everyone is damaged, chipped, dented and three actually flattened so they are bent out of shape :(

Sounds like the cs guy didn't know about the change of packaging. Mine arrived with a small ding, but I was aprihensive about opening it when it was delivered. Seeing some of the photo's of damage its crazy. How can you post something collectable in inadequate packaging, where there is a big chance it will get bashed in? There is no sense to it. They market these things as a premium collectable product and now with ultra limited runs where there are no chance to get replacements.

Guys,

Just letting you know that i am going to report Zavvi to UK Trading Standards AND i'm going to be contacting BBC Watchdog over this fiasco!!!:angry:

After reading all the horror stories from members here and other forums regarding the V For Vendetta total f***-up Zavvi need to be held to account over this!!!

Their e-mail reply to me which i posted earlier is just a total load of lies!!!

They shouldn't be allowed to get away with this...and i intend to take this as far as necessary to get PROPER premimum packaging for premium priced Limited Edition steelbooks bought by collectors spending their hard earned money at Zavvi....and not allow these f****** shysters to get away with it!!!

I'll keep everybody informed....and if Zavvi are deciding that A1 mailers and "foam" in the loosest sense of the word is the way forward for Captain America, Indy & Disney then they can go F*** themselves and everybody here should say F*** you Zavvi too!!!!

I'll keep you informed,
David.

All of this could've been prevented if they just emailed us that they're awaiting stock of the original packaging and held out. There's no excuse for changing the release date whatsoever. The original date which I believe was June 9th would've bought them enough time to receive stock. I assume it was due to Zavvi wanting to take the money quicker.

Very unprofessional. I feel sorry for people that were succumbed to this.

I got a couple things from zavvi today. Almost everyone of them in the envelope cardboard mailers had worn corners on the steel from the tight fit. Luckily no damage except paint ruboff on one of them. If this is the new way for shipping all I can say is GOOD LUCK keeping your steelbook customers Zavvi!!!

Anybody else get the following email from Zavvi?

If there is anything else we can help you with please do not hesitate to get in touch through your online account.

Kindest Regards,
zavvi Customer Service Department.

Just ordered TMNT with the discount

Have Zavvi changed the way discounts worked? Take for example the Black Sunday and Unknown promotions. The discounts are now applied to the basket as a whole rather than being divided amongst the products in the basket. I guess they have gotten wise to customers regularly abusing pre-order offers.

I noticed that too, but what difference would that make when attempting to cancel?

I don't think it would make any difference, i'm thinking in terms of the way the discount is applied i.e. it has been changed and is now applied to the last item to be dispatched or something similar.

Yeah that probably makes sense if it's now applied to the last item in the order. I suppose it's about time they closed up that loophole.
