I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

I think that instead of introducing these "steel-packs" or "future-packs", whatever they are calling them, they should be focused on improving their service to the customers and try to get their steelbook side of the business right.

Strange thing happened to me yesterday. Got an eMail saying they are happy to inform me that my Goldfinger order was successfully cancelled and my account wasn't charged. But I did NOT cancel anything. So how could this happen? Are they going crazy now?

Any idea why they are doing this or did anybody encounter a similar situation? I could have placed a new order, but I don't want to lose the KICKOFF discount code, so I want this sorted out. Seems like their software is going mad and everything's falling apart. First the cancelled faulty cancellation of Alice in Wonderland, then the mailer issue, and now this. Oh, and the number of absolutely useless "order updates" is increasing. Got 3 of them yesterday (Alice, Hercules & Robin Hood).

So are they still sending steelbooks in cardboard envelopes? I want to order something, but I might just wait a little longer.

And that's the only way to effectively protest against the use of this new penny-pinching and flimsy packaging from Zavvi: just don't order anything from them. Giving them business only endorses their switch to the new packaging, meaning more problems in the long run.

There are some titles people may feel they have to get because they're exclusives, but personally I won't order any trade-wide releases from Zavvi while they're still sending out steels in those crappy card mailers.

i have been ordering from zavvi for quite some years now and im constanly hearing all these complaints from many people...but maybe i m lucky so far.. only once i received a slightly damagd steelbook..

and my main complaint would be the Shipping time which is late in comparison with amazon or the late play.com. and some occasions of lost items but i got replacements..

so far i didnt have any other problems..but yeah their Packaging should improve,...

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

So Zavvi are STILL selling the V For Vendetta steelbook on ZavviOutlet at Amazon!!!!! Un-F****** Believable!!!! After telling somebody else here that they were being taken down and shouldn't be sold there!!!!:angry::angry:
I am going to Trading Standards about this....my copy was damaged and i was told sorry...NO replacements available!!!!..was offered a 50% refund!!!!
Quite frankly Zavvi can go f*** themselves....the shoddiest online retailer on the internet by a country mile!!!! No contactable telephone number, non-existant customer service, rediculous packaging, you have to jump through hoops to get anywhere with them...it's about time they were exposed!!!!
Customers told A1 packaging was a "trail"...complete failure but STILL they are sending steelbooks out in them!!!!:angry::angry:
They absolutely do not give a flying F*** about their customers, only PROFIT, PROFIT, PROFIT!!!!!
It's time for PAYBACK!!!!!!

Obviously you have never bought from HMV Ireland.

In my experience Zavvi are always spot on.

If I wanted to cancel part of an order. Let's say the Arrow Steelbooks 2 for 30 deal. Would I still get the processing order for £15. Or would they charge the full price if cancelling one item from a special offer.

Thanks guys

I've tried this before and it worked. But I've noticed Zavvi have been changing certain aspects of their site recently but it worked roughly two or so weeks ago with a steelbook which granted 5% off another steelbook so I cancelled the main item and got the other for a bit cheaper. I'm assuming it will work but can't say for sure.

about 2 weeks before the release date of Pinocchio and still no guarantee if zavvi packaging has returned to the white boxes...really annoying

I feel you on those white boxes, they might as well just stick the shipping lable directly on the shrink wrap... it offers no protection I was in shock when I saw my first Zavvi in the mail... I try to order as less as possible from them.

I think I will also start boycotting Zavvi, we can find alternative steel elsewhere it's not like they are the only one on the market and furthermore they don't produce the nicest ones anyways... ok some exception but in general they are not that fantastic.

Sometimes it doesn't work, and you only have the choice to cancel the whole order. Which makes sense if you got the second one for a discounted price if in combination with the first one. Otherwise you'll get the discount for free which obviously was not the intention when giving you the discount.

Since cancellations are processed by real persons and not by the system like at Amazon I'd say it's pretty likely they'll notice there's something wrong with the cancellation. I know I would. ;)

I know how you feel I have been having similar issues with Zavvi, the company is really pushing it and their 'customer service' is shocking.

I am sure that many people have never experienced any problems with Zavvi (including me) but that is not the point - what is at stake here is what mechanisms are in place if something goes wrong. From reading some of the comments above I dread the day that I have to deal with their customer services.

Zavvi have updated their cancellation page (or at least I think so).

Right to Cancel
This right to cancel is in addition to our Returns Policy.
You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving reason.
The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires physical possession of the goods.

etc etc

Doesn't look like anything important, but I am wondering why they've inserted the long essay before cancelling.
