I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Not happy!! After getting a mate to take a pic, Zavvi are refusing to refund my steelbook. They will only offer a 10% reduction on my steel... even though it's a disgrace. As a collector, it doesn't always come down to money... I just want a blemish, dent free steelbook!

Zavvi knew they were taking a chance with the new packaging. I suggest you try and point out to them that they are responsible for shipping the product, and if they deliberately take risks, then it's up to them to make up for it when it goes wrong. The customers should not be held responsible for Zavvi's own mistakes.

By law you can return any item to a retailer even if it isn't damaged for a full refund, therefore they cannot say that.

Beat me to it! :hilarious:

Yep what hayemaker says is 100% spot on, if they refuse to give you a full refund "if that's what you asked for" then they are actually breaking the UK consumer rights laws.

Make sure you keep screen grabs of your convo's with them, as you may need them if they continue to refuse to refund you completely.

They tried offering me a 15% partial refund after stating I'd like to return my damaged copy. I refused saying it was their fault for using inferior packaging and now I'm getting a full refund. I also stated they could lose a lot of custom if they don't re-think their packaging, would be nice if they took notice.

if zavvi says something is region b can that be counted on?

i see the steel for iron man 3 on ebay with the tag region free? and i think i remember someone mentioning zavvi sometimes says region b even if its region free?

thanks in advance.

Never count on Zavvi's region classification. As far I know iron man 3 is region free

Edit : didn't realize I was posting in price drop thread. Mods please feel free to move to appropriate thread

I'm actually on their site now trying to contact them about a dent in one of my steels I got from them a few weeks ago and it won't let me continue WITHOUT uploading an image of the steelbook.

the thing to do is to message them to say you can't upload photos and you need to make a return.

Then you present them with a fait a complis, and they have no choice.

Don't let them dictate terms to you.

Quite part from anything else, they are trying to impinge on your rights as a buyer - don't let them get in the driving seat!

Offering a 10% refund is not the same as refusing to give a full refund.

No, but they cannot legally present you with a fait a complis like that; similarly they cannot demand you send photos and then sit in judgement - if an item is damaged, it is damaged - period, and it is for them to do as the customer wishes, not what they prefer!

Doesn't the UK have something equivalent to the American BBB (Better Business Bureau)?

Anyone received a spine slashed copy? I've not heard about anyone having done so.
Seems they might have sorted that problem out but created another one with the poor packaging.
Come on Zavvi!

After my Indy steels arrive I will have no more to do with scavvi. They are a joke. They issue so called good will discount codes that do not work, then refuse to sort things out. I hope they go belly up....SOON. Any business that treats it's customers this way does not deserve to continue doing said business.
