Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

I received a mint turtles but I'm awaiting robin hood. Hopefully will be mint. Shouldn't have to worry about these getting to us damage free. The amount of these steelbook they sell they should have adequate packaging.
 
Zavvi included some extra embossing free of charge on some my latest purchases :arghh:

if you order from zavvi expect no protection... I'm surprised they don't just stick the shipping label directly on the steell not much difference from how they are shipping.
 
I can't believe how shocking their packaging is for such expensive items.

I've recently got some from ES and Amazon and their packaging was exceptional. The care taken for such collectible items I was very impressed.

Zavvi need to go back to the white boxes :mad:
 
It seems to me now that watching various Youtube videos that Zavvi are bubblewrapping international orders and UK orders are getting the pathetic bog roll!!!!!! Obviously Zavvi still don't give a f***!! about us in the UK!!! Here's a £25 steelbook (Under The Skin)....we'll take your hard earned money:emb:...and we will send your expensive steelbook out in a pathetic piece of packaging with NO protection against Mr Nasty Royal Mail in the sheer hope that you are one of the lucky ones who doesn't get it damaged!!!!,,,,and then we will make contacting us to complain a complete pain in the a*** and then offer a paltry partial refund on a purchase that should be properly packaged and protected!!!! and then to state in our T & C's that to return any damaged items we expect it to be packaged properly to avoid any damage!!! ARE THEY F****** JOKING!!!!!!:angry::angry::angry:....The Mafia would be proud to run that organisation!!!! Sorry...NO replacements!!! OUT OF STOCK!!! But wait...ZavviOutlet on Ebay & Amazon have stock...at inflated prices!!!! F******!!!!!! I'd rather buy off members on Ebay at slightly higher prices in the knowledge that it will come protected!!!! ZAVVI - MONEY GRABBING C**** WHO DON'T GIVE A F***!!!! Why can't anybody here at HDN sort this out for us???????? :confused::confused::confused:
 
ok people, I understand that you are angry about the stupid zavvi packaging :( BUT.... I would be happy if my packages would arrive :( :( :(

I ordered 8 Steelbooks in the last 2 months and 4 of them doesn't arrived :(
 
Just to add to the Zavvi woes, I asked for my damaged copies of Hercules and Pinocchio to be replaced. When they gave me the return paper work n such, it said Refund for Pinocchio so I amended it to Replacement. Just checked my emails now, replacement has been sent for Hercules and Pinocchio was refunded :rolleyes:

I just got a replacement credit card in the mail and I have a dozen steelbook on pre-order.

If I update my Zavvi account with the new card will they update and use the new card to charge?

I am mostly concerned with losing the Indiana steels.

Zavvi,boy oh boy.Purchase at your own risk.It is 50/50 chance if you received a good steelbooks from Zavvi based on my purchases from them.
My latest purchases were Tenebrae and clockwork orange.Their glymsy white boxes came in fine condition but the 2 steelbooks were bad conditions.
Tenebrae had a dent at the corner,clockwork orange had a deep cut mark across the steelbook from left to right,the damages were under the plasticwrap so obviously there were not any quality check before shipping out to customer.
Zavvi refunded the tenebrae and sent a replacement clockwork orange.Guess what,the replacement also had a big dent.I give up on Zavvi.

I recently had a new card and if you register it on the site it only works for orders from this point onwards. However, if payment fails for an order (Zavvi dont email you, or at least they didnt with me) but you can then amend that order's payment details. Payment will fail when the order is about to be sent, so check your Indiana Jones orders when they are due to ship.

Agree with Tacozilla. If you are able to update payment options before the release date do it!

Once you get a payment failed message you won't get any support from customer service. Their only reply is "We are not able to do anything, please cancell your order and re-order the item again with the new payment method".

That is what we have had in the past and mostly on things now sold out obviously and they just say tough :(
 
just received Under The Skin steelbook as flat as a pancake at the bottom

was sent in a ultra thin cardboard mailer whith an ultra thin layer of foam

paid 32 euro for this steelbook

and guess what no replacements available since this is listed as sold out :mad:

so now the long wait to get to get a refund begins again

i'm thinking of cancelling all my orders because i refuse to take the risk again as long as they keep using this same pathetic packaging method

Same **** happend to me today. Got a crushed Ghostbusters. About two weeks the same thing with Re-animator.
Emailed them then about R-A but no reply yet.......
Let's see what happens with Ghostbusters
 
Still waiting for my order from June 25... Got an e-mail that said it would come before July 16. Fingers crossed;)

I got tired of crossing my fingers every time a Zavvi shipment was on its way to me.

So I decided that instead of crossing my fingers I would straighten my middle finger, bend the two adjoining fingers, give Zavvi the bird and cancel all my pre-orders.

I then realized I was no longer bent over a table with my pants around my ankles. Quite liberating.

I purchased a copy of Hercules from Zavvi a week or so ago, it arrived with paint chips on the front, I emailed them and sent pictures, they offered me a partial refund of 10%, I obliged. Regretting that decision, I would've sent it back for a replacement but didn't want this to go OOS so I sucked it up and moved on. However seeing as how it's still in stock I emailed them yesterday asking if it was too late to send it back for a replacement copy, Zavvi tell me they consider the case closed since I accepted the lousy 10% partial refund. Are they allowed to do this? I know I shouldn't have accepted the partial refund but it's too late to undo that so I just want to know where I stand within my customer rights.

10% partial refund is a big joke

you just have to tell them you are not satisfied with that and ask them for a replacement

i'm really sickin tired of this company

is there any news yet on their future packaging method? will they just keep using these ultra thin cardboard mailers ???
