I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

reward points were lost already some month ago (i think it was july???)

i have the same problem too, cant pay with paypal... only method i can use on their site oO

I heard they're bringing PP back but this time with a 15% surcharge, sourced from a zavvi Email reply.

Just a side issue- The only Disney steels I don't have are Frozen and Fantasia; Both are sold out on the Zavvi website (knew Frozen would be but all the same...) However, on eBay the Zavvi outlet is listing Fantasia over £22!! Find this disgusting; they clearly have stock left, haven't made it available via their website and selling it for an inflated price on eBay...

They don't have to honour anything with orders, this is straight from their T&Cs:

Any orders placed by you will be treated as an offer to purchase the goods or services from us and we have the right to reject such offers at any time. You acknowledge that any automated acknowledgment of your order which you may receive from us shall not amount to our acceptance of your offer to purchase goods or services advertised on the Website. The conclusion of a contract between you and us will take place when we (i)debit your credit, debit card or PayPal account or (ii) dispatch the goods to you or commence the services, whichever is the later.
Hopefully they will honour the pricing glitch though.

Got myself into a HUGE mess on this; Initially ordered BaTB along with 8 other Disney/Pixar steels and X-Men 2 for £150(ish) in total (15% off and £6 code applied)

Afterwards, I came onto this forum and saw someone had posted a £10.00 off with orders over £100 code; So I went back to Zavvi, re-ordered the whole lot and got the same steels for £144 or so.

I then cancelled my initial order of £150 seeing as I managed to save a few £'s with a better promo code; Unfortunately, I have now received a 'Failed Cancellation' email- This relates to the 8 Disney steelbooks I purchased and NOT BaTB, so BaTB/X2 were cancelled but NOT the bulk of the order.

The other Disney steels still had their 15% discount codes applied, but panicking I then cancelled my second (£144) order as I do not want to be charged twice. Fortunately, this second order has been cancelled, but still have the 8 Disney steels from my first order unable to cancel.

I have contacted Zavvi, as although I want these steelbooks I also don't want to be messed about and told that they will charge me full amounts as the item that triggered the 15% off discount has been taken off the order, and told them to cancel the order.

This has left me in a bit of a dilemma as I want BaTB, I want X2 and I want the 8 other Disney steelbooks but do not want to order them again in the off chance that Zavvi does charge my card and send these other Disney steelbooks out- I pre ordered BaTB again (on its own) as I don't want to miss out on this, but i'm left in the dark regarding if they'll send the others out as i've tried to cancel them and have also sent Zavvi an email.

Ideally, I want to get the order wholly cancelled, and then order the 10 items again with the '£10 off orders over £100 code' but can't do this until I have any correspondence back from Zavvi.

Anyone had any similar experiences??

What happened with you/what was the resolve??
See; I want the 8 other steelbooks that i'm trying to cancel but have literally no idea on whether they're going to charge my card and send out the items at the discounted rate or cancel the order; Naturally I want the issue resolved asap as I know BaTB will sell out before long and want to take advantage of the promotion before this happens.
On top of this, have just had the Halifax call regarding anti fraud (believe it is because I have just totally messed up on my Zavvi account/tried to push a large amount through at one go) and didn't manage to get their number to call. What a fun Sunday evening this is turning out to be. Cheers Zavvi....

for anybody NOT ordering from the UK but any other country (like zavvi.nl i assume they don't ship to the UK strangely...):

ZAVVI.ES has some additional discount price for DUMBO, 101 DALMATIANS, BAMBI, + 15% off these when ordered with BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (applied automatically).

+ 10% code 40ZES works too and can be stacked, which then can look something like this:

first of all, i think it's not really zavvi's fault if you want to have items you ordered with 2 discounts cancelled, AFTER you ordered them again at an even more discounted price that was obviously a glitch and should not have happened that way. in my experience, once you place an order for items that are in stock, you cannot cancel anymore because they switch the status to "awaiting dispatch" immediately. so they will not cancel your order anymore. and you cannot really blame them in my opinion.
ive had the same thing happening several times, when i placed an order with a 10% code and i think it's a good deal, just to find out an hour later i could have ordered them with another 15% off. that's just the way it is sometimes. ;)

Think it's sorted now- As far as i'm aware they've cancelled my second order in its entirety and part cancelled the first order and are charging my first order bar BaTB (which i've pre ordered separately now...) Problem solved..

Does the trick of cancelling the order right after the purchase to receive only in stock items with all the discounts still work? :)

Basically it's another screwup by Zavvi and legally they are legally OK under UK laws to cancel orders until dispatch, they can't ask for more money than the than the original order though.

I personally think it's unlikely that they will orders apart from bulk orders which they do anyway

I find it extremely hard to believe that this SteelBook sold out in just 6 hours! Most likely just Zavvi trying to drum up false hype by allowing a small percentage to be pre-ordered straight away. Zavvi tactics. They do it with every Disney release. Zavvi Outlet have probably secured a large percentage of the allocation to sell on eBay at a marked-up price...

I definitely feel that there is something suspicious going on here though. I know it's a popular title which a lot of people have been patiently waiting for, and I know it has been in the vault for at least three years, but there is still no way that 4,000 (I'm assuming a standard print run of 4,000 units) have sold out on pre-orders on the very first day! If past Disney / Pixar releases are anything to go by, this should reappear sporadically before release day as Zavvi attempt to drive more false hype

I also read that some people had issues getting the 15% offer to work, so maybe Zavvi temporarily pulled the pre-order listing while they fix the issue?

As for trusting Zavvi... I would not trust them if they told me grass was green! They play far too many silly pre-order games with their customers for starters, which really pisses people off; they display misleading release dates and / or constantly keep changing release dates to suit themselves; they ship items when you least expect them (partially due to the previously mentioned reason); and worst of all they claim items are sold out on their site, but then they are caught selling hundreds of said items via Zavvi Outlet on eBay or other site like Amazon or Play! I'm very surprised that trading standards haven't investigated them!

I hear what you are saying, but I reckon the eBay scalpers will of gotten plenty of these, as it's probably the most popular release. All in hope that the prices go to frozen levels!

sold out on zavvi can mean a couple of things-

they still have a few hundred left in stock which are reserved for returns/damages and will be made available later

they still have a few hundred left in stock which are lost in their warehouse.

they still have a few hundred left in stock but just havent updated their system

they still have a few hundred left in stock but the stock is being reserved for their ebay outlet

they still have a few hundred left in stock but are sitting on them to re-introduce them to the market at an inflated price

I couldn't agree more. I remember getting a "last few remaining" email months ago for 'I Saw the Devil' (maybe they meant last few thousand remaining?) and other titles due for release, yet they are still available. Also got one for 'The Graduate' a few days ago. I don't believe that at all. It's trickery of the highest order. No wonder I have trust issues

The thing that's peeved me most with Zavvi is they are showing the Fantasia steel as being sold out on their website (advertised as £19.99) On the Zavvi outlet on eBay it's selling for £23!!! Managed to pick it up on Play.com (again, Zavvi trading through here) for £20.99. Trickery of the highest order me thinks...
