Same thing happened to me. Did not realize I already had the item on preorder. But after 2 minutes of purchase I got the same thing. Contacted them right away and of course it takes forever to get a response back. I went through FB and everything. They are all a useless bunch of twats! They offered me a whopping 10% off. I told them where they could stick there 10% off and cancelled all of my orders. Worst retailer I have ever dealt with.

What is going on with Zavvi the last few weeks? It seems they have messed up the steelbook section of their website, and now anything with the word Steel or Book in the title is mixed in there. The 'view by price' option is basically unusable like this.

There have been changes. For most countries (including those in Europe), the "Standard Cost" for shipping is now £1.99 but "(Free over £10)".

You can read the country specific information in their Terms and Conditions -> International Delivery.

WOW, I've just noticed that, £1.99 postage for UK buyers on orders under £10, that wasn't the case a few weeks ago, I'm sure I ordered something with free postage. Typical, this is what happens when zavvi offer stupidly cheap overseas postage, turns out it WAS unsustainable and us UK buyers are getting the hit.. :cautious:

OR zavvi are in trouble of an other kind.

..And what is really p**sing me off here, is they are STILL offering overseas postage for £1.99, come on, really ?, it costs the same to the UK as it does to Australia & Antartica, pull the other one...

I know, it's an absolute joke.

Gone are the days of picking up a few cheap bargains here and there now (bundled with a discount code)

All because their business model is a complete clusterfu*k!! They're just the absolute most frustrating company. They really are. Only they could go from bad to worse. They're just shooting themselves in the foot with this latest move.

Their overseas shipping costs aren't as cheap as it may look.

Zavvi doesn't collect and pay VAT (absolutely no need for them to do that) for the purchases of their foreign customers (outside UK), but they sell their products at the same price as to their UK customers.

That's straight away 20% off the purchase price to compensate for the cheap (or even "free") postage. Depending on the price of the product, they may lose a bit on the actual shipping costs or they may gain a bit of extra profit.

One of the good things about zavvi was you could pick up some cheap bargains now and again! I just went to order Sharknado ( luv the artwork on the steel) for £9.40 then got hit with £1.99 postage making a total of £11.39 I just cancelled it in disgust! My under a tenner bargain had just flown out the window! For the sake of 60p I'm getting charged £2 Amazon only charge £1.26!!

I know as **** as Zavvi already are I don't think this is a wise move. I order pop funkos for 9.99 and less and having to pay £1.99 extra for effectively nothing is (n)

They should be reducing the items to compensate for that.

Does anybody know if zavvi are cutting down on the production of old steelbooks as if you exclude all new releases there just seems to be a lot less steelbooks coming out than there was this time last year. At one point I remember getting emails once or twice on a Saturday & the same on a Sunday.

Anyone heard anything?

Yeah, I agree with you there. The bubble's burst a little bit I think.

Do you think there seems to be more exclusives from HMV then compared to this time last year also?

And we now have the new kids on the block, Zoom, with their exclusives. All healthy competition for Zavvi.

Yes, I think HMV do seem to be getting more also. I think HMV actually seem to be getting the better ones in terms of films I want to watch. I'm not too worried about the new films that much though because I feel if it's a decent enough film at least one of them will release it on steelbook.

It's the old ones that bother me as theres so many films I would like on steelbook that I don't think are available. E.g. The Truman Show, Stand By Me, The Green Mile.

And it WAS my hope that Zavvi would eventually get round to doing them, I'm not so sure any more though..

I was wondering guys, and this might be a stupid bloody question so I apologise but will Britain leaving Europe make it so we don't have to suffer from WW releases where films titles are took off for the European market

Would it be possible for us to get the artwork on the American WW releases? Like for example Star Wars The Force Awakens Steelbook had the title in the US but the title was removed for Europe. Crap artwork either way I know but it did look better with the title.

Just wondering. Surely we won't suffer now because they need to think of everyone in Europe.
