Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

what happened? if the tracking info isnt realiable, why did i pay 8GBP for it ? :-/

It really depends where you live I ordered several steels to germany and every single one was in mint condition. I mean look at this package... It looks like your postman put it under his car and drove over it

I made my first ever order from Zaavi yesterday (Zombieland Steelbook!) and man after reading all these posts, I'm concerned if it'll be able to make it all the way to Canada in one piece

I cancelled all my zavvi preorders until I see them implementing good steel packaging.

The fact that many members did write here ... is the reason why it will change.

I've stated before ... it takes a while to institute new packaging as they cant just go buy a few boxes here and there. Instead they need to secure a deal to have on-going packaging in large volume.

I knew the packaging woudl continue to be horrible up until the supposed packaging release of WFRR. So let's all try to stay calm until then...

Since thehut and zavvi both are of same group, I am expecting same package handling at both places. I have ordered some steelbooks from thehut and they arrived in a kind of jiffy bags (envelops with single bubble wrap layer inside ). luckily they were not damaged.
But now, as zavvi is getting more number of exclusive steelbooks, I am hoping that they will use specialized package to ship steelbooks.

Great news, With the amount of pre-orders I have with them I was feeling a bit wary before.

Yeah I wasnt sure if I was allowed to announce my contacts involvement in helping Zavvi but since Zavvi also sell qty via the Play platform everything was ok to be announced.

Always protect my contacts.

Their customer service is appalling! I contacted them a week ago to request a return authorisation, after receiving a damaged steelbook in one of their thin cardboard envelopes. They did not reply, so I had to contact them again. Now they are making me jump through hoops and provide photographic evidence of the damage!

I guess you have been unlucky. I received a mildly damaged steelbook last week, and while I found it tricky actually getting to contact through their dismissive contact section they got back to me within half an hour with a returns code.

dont want to burst everyones bubble (pardon the pun) but i received lady snowblood today from zavvi no longer in a crappy card envelope but in an even crappier bubble envelope if this is there new packaging i think they will be getting lots of returns although this steel was perfect

They've been rotating steelbooks between the cardboard envelopes and the bubble mailers for ages, pretty certain they wouldn't dare try to claim that is their new packaging!

I put in my first ever order with zavvi this week,i am in uk.
came in a padded envelope,but steel was fine,took 2 days to deliver.
cant complain at all

We know they are going to sort out packaging,so all they need to work on now is their cs,which is pretty dire from reading others posts,hopefully they can become the new play.com i have faith
