Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

Not sure why the play.com packaging is being held in such high regard. Yes it's extremely good but certainly can be easily damaged in the postal system just as easily (had it happen to me a few times). The only way to pretty much guarantee no damage is to double box steels.

The zavvi packaging is pretty solid but there is always a chance of damage, especially the longer it's in the post and the further it has to travel.

Hey, was wondering if anyone in Canada (I suppose US would probably be the same) know how long Zavvi takes to ship over here to North America

Just curious, ordered my first Steelbook from them two weeks ago and was curious how long their shipping usually is (Amazon UK is pretty fast)

My last order with them took 3 weeks to arrive.
My first order only took 2 weeks.
But some of my base.com orders only took a week, same cardboard mailer.
I guess it depends on how efficiently they sort it. Usually I get them with my regular lettermail. The time it took 3 week, my orders arrived with the parcel delivery mailman.

Recieved my first order today from Zavvi. As Wreck promised things are looking up. I feel I can pre-order with confidence now.

This is why I said the packaging is not good enough for overseas delivery as it ain't that sturdy or thick like the Play.com packaging. Returning is going to be difficult if you remove the flap like thingy.

Packaging is much better then what HMV offered. I couldnt even order from HMV ... atleast I'm willing to take the gamble on this packaging.

I know people still dont like this packaging 100% ... but bottom line is this is a HUGE improvement from before.

ps. this packaging can be reused ... dont open from the tear part ... instead just open from the end/side. Tho I still recommend people who are doing trades to not simply use just this packaging but to instead stick this inside some other packaging or mailer for extra protection.

Now before someone says how can I say its good enough for Zavvi orders but not good enough for trades ... well we're talking about trying to be cost efficient when havign to ship out 100's of thousands of steels per year (zavvi) vs. ourselves just doing trades/small sales etc.

Well, I gotta say it's better than before, but still no up-to-date with Play... BUT, as an oversea buyer, at least, they offer International Shipping.
And... let's be honest, for 0.99£ for shipping, it's kind of a steal



And, they've showed us that they are trying to improve their policies!!! Nice try, but please, a little bit more foam wouldn't hurt. And I wouldn't mind pay a little bit more too to pay that foam.

Yes, received mine exactly shown on Marc post. Just find the box a little small compare to play box. But, I'm happy with the new packaging though.

It is 50-60% the size of Play.com's box designed to fit Large Letter.

To my surprise the steel was absolutely mint. So in my book zavvi's new packaging does what it's supposed to do.

Well i've got no complaints about Zavvi packaging so far, received Roger Rabbit in mint condition and they even used the new packaging for a Snow White and the Huntsmen steelbook i received the other day which was on offer

I love Zavvi. I never have problem with my orders and have ordered a lot from them. They ship fast, arrived in California, USA in less than a week and the shipping cost is extremely affordable only £0.99 for up to three steelbooks, way cheaper than Amazon UK. I don't know how they do it. I just received two steels today, The Godfather shipped in the new packaging and End of Watch in their old brown envelope packaging. Both arrive in mint condition. I guess it's all depend on the people that handle the package and your location. I hope they will continue ship to US and I will continue support their business.

If you don't place an order for around a month, they usually email you a 10% code because they 'miss you'

If that fails, Vouchercodes.co.uk often have exclusive Zavvi codes
