Current packaging is a cardboard mailer with the steelbook usually wrapped in either a layer of bubble wrap or foam

I now have confirmation that I can announce ... for all those worried about future packaging from Zavvi. My Play contact has been working with zavvi as well on this mission for better packaging. Between the 3 of us and the future comments from this community after its in place I'm sure it will be go over well.

1/19/2013 Member Nyvo tweeted Zaavi about packaging concerns. They said they may be looking into alternate packaging methods.

I did the same thing except when I returned the form, they replied a few hours later and sent a dispatch email the following day. Maybe I'm just really lucky :dunno:

No maybe about it, you got very lucky snooloui. To recount my experience with The Jungle Book here would traumatise me all over again. Very similar experience to nmenenth.

Looks like Zavvi's employee of the Month, Mike, has sharpened his knife in readiness for the season folks. :p
 
My latest encounter with Zavvi...

- Ordered Little Mermaid
- Little Mermaid doesn't turn up
- Waited the obligatory 14 days then reported it
- Completed the 'Non receipt of goods form' and emailed it back requesting refund.
- Received an email saying 'Sorry the goods are faulty - please send photographs'
- Replied saying 'goods not faulty, can't send photos as it hasn't arrived. Please refund'
- Received reply saying ' Thank you for the photos. we will look into this'
- Bangs head against wall.
- Reply stating' No photos were sent. Item didn't arrive. Please read my emails. Non receipt form completed and sent back. Please refund.'
- Received reply saying 'Sorry, please can you send in a signed Non Receipt Form'
- Bangs head against wall.
- Reply with form I had already sent in, and once again request refund.
- Received reply saying 'We have sent this off to another department'
- Awaiting refund

Sigh....

They need to start actually reading emails and responding appropriately.

This is awful on Zavvi's part. Some of these steps just seem so ridiculous to even happen.
 
Thats how they respond, I kept send the same question in a string of emails, they responded back 5 different times with an answer that was not even close to my question. I sent a sixth response, went to check for a reply and they were all deleted on their website
 
How is Zavvi when it comes to boxsets? I have a pre-order for the Dexter slide set with them but now I'm thinking of switching to Amazon.com. If you guys had the choice, which of the two would you rather go through? (I'm located in Canada if it makes a difference and I've already crossed Amazon.ca off my list).
 
I'm still waiting on them to refund me for Planet of the Apes. ES refunded me for nbk 2 days ago which was posted at the same time. Hope it hasn't got lost again. The amount of times that's happened is quite unbelievable with them. Luckily each time I got proof of postage, just a bit of a pain having to scan it and send it to them.

Still waiting for my little mermaid that shipped on release day to arrive.

I got die hard just fine and it shipped 2 weeks later.

Sent two messages to Zavvi and no response. :(
 
Have Zavvi offered any reasons/explanations regarding;

1. The Rocketeer colour variations?

2. The French txt on the back of the Prestige steelbook?

3. The disc cock-up on the Wickerman steelbook?

Dunno mate but a few other cock ups spring to mind:

4. Lack of any real gloss finish on Independence Day. Advertised as glossy.

5. Debossed title on Twelve Monkeys. Advertised as Embossed.

6. Lack of gloss on the stars and spaceship on Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
 
Sorry to bother you guys again with questions...

Is there any difference in packaging with the more expensive tracked shipping option? Or is it pretty much the same thing but with tracking? I'm sort of wondering how they are going to go about shipping an order of five... Hope they pack them into a bigger box and don't send them all separately in those little boxes.
 
The Current Zavvi Packaging is pathetic it is causing lot of damaged steelbooks if someone can send the message to them to revert to old packaging with thicker Foam that will be great.

Saw that Elysium was down to £17.49 my pre-order was 19.99 + 2 discount (10%) how do I make sure I get new the price + my discount ? :S

Yeah these boxes fits the Large Letter scale pricing point now (for UK addresses) so it's cheaper for them. But I don't know why international orders aren't sent better protected as it wouldn't cost them more to send it with the thicker foam. I guess they only have the thinner foam boxes now and can't be bothered pack international orders differently. Must be costing them more in damaged steels though.
 
Zavvi do have a price promise, so if it is cheaper on release they will charge you the cheaper price

Yeah I read that so I e-mailed customer service and either my english is out of this world or they didn't want to change it. Just got them writing "I can confirm that the payment for the item has been brought down to £17.99."

Which was the price I had before with my discount code. And not even £17.49 which it's now WITHOUT discount :angry:

You would think they might take a little interest bearing in mind you're Staff Andy, there again that sort of thing never stopped them in the past. In their old guise they wouldn't have cared if they got an order from Richard Branson. EEK! :naughty:
