Damaged SteelBook™ (From Retailers/Accidents) Sympathy & Venting!

It looks like our former thread has become unavailable, so I am posting a new one. Feel free to post pics and share your worst experiences with damaged Steelbooks as received from retailers. I've stickied this one for now.

The packaging was perfect small packet with bubble wrap put in a large box with brown paper. There was no damage to the packaging leading me to belive the steelbook was sent out with the crack already inside. Everything is cool now as a replacement is on its way.
This will stay sealed as I watched the movie and its pretty dumb.

Terry, I'm sorry to see your Conan arrived like that. And a bit surprised really, because of all the online suppliers I've used recently, Amazon.fr are by far the best. With each of my 2 shipments they individually wrapped each steelbook in brown paper and then sealed each in a small cardboard Amazon shipper, and then packed all of the individual Amazon shippers into one large box - which they then padded out with packing paper! Really top notch from a major supplier. Needless to say, everything arrived in pristine condition.

By contrast, Amazon.ca sent my steelbooks just rattling around loose in a thin shipper box, and one was badly dented as a result. I wish they could all learn from Amazon in France and pack them as well as they do!

Amazon Italy is awesome. My first order from October, 2nd replacement, arrived 3 weeks late(today), I contacted them two weeks before and got a refund. Today it shows up.

I just got my copy of Final destination 5 (UK) today. I just sat down to watch it, and my 20 pound cat Bebe decided to watch with me after he jumped onto the coffee table. Well I was enjoying the movie (believe it or not) and decided to call Bebe over to me on the couch. He obliged. Thats when I noticed he had been sitting on my new steelbook case. Well, now I have a one of a kind de-bossed copy of Final Destination 5, The center is totally caved in courtesy of Bebe. Well I guess I learned not to leave them laying around anymore.

Anybody else have any cases of temporary stupidity? If so tell it here..your secret is safe with us.

Yeah, I was placing one of my steelbooks into the poly bag and dropped it onto a just received mint, but opened batman arkham city ps3 steelbook that i had been wanting for a while. Damaged both steelbooks.

I had a problem with my ikea shelf. I had just built it and was putting in my steelbooks when i had to realise that one nail went through the wood and scratched one of my beautys. Man was i pissed!

I was angry my Rise ot Planet ot Apes-Steelbook from Play.com had a little dent on its side. When I wanted to show it to my wife and said 'well, this one's going back!' I let it slip through my hands. While desperately trying to catch it, I only managed to throw it away even further away in a great spin, bouncing all over the floor. I now have an Steel-octagon of this movie.

I remember my little daughter dropped Kill Bill 2 and one top corners became damaged, my error leave it at her reach; yesterday my wife toss a key chain over the UK's ones I received yesterday, my error show them to her in the dinner table

lesson learned: do not show them to wife and do not leave them out of the reach of children (or pets)
