Walker was in the middle of shooting Fast and Furious 7 with Vin Diesel and new director James Wan and it's undetermined how much more Walker had to shoot on the film or whether rewrites and changes will have to be done. This film will be extremely difficult to watch once its released :( This might end up being delayed. So damn tragic.

I have a feeling they will kill him off in the movie early on sometime after hans funeral. Im hoping they will do it proper and in a respectful way. I am honestly hoping they do a flash back focusing on his memory sort of like how they did for fast 6 at the start for past movies. I have personally been a bit of a disaster since learning what happened and im sure it will be extremely hard in theaters.

Vin and Paul were great friends in real life. There is NO way Vin will send him off in F&F7 in anything but a proper way.

Fast & Furious 7 Production Delayed

Following the tragic death of principal star Paul Walker, Universal has halted shooting on the seventh iteration of the Fast and the Furious franchise but will reportedly not abandon the project entirely.

Walker and the rest of the Fast 7 cast were due to return to Atlanta on Sunday for re-shoots following a holiday break from production, although these plans are now on hold until "Monday or Tuesday at the earliest," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Fast & Furious 7 director James Wan and Universal held a conference call on Sunday to discuss how to proceed following Walker's death in a manner respectful to the late actor. Details on any possible rewrites won't be determined until the cast and crew have had time to process and grieve.

Shooting on the movie was more than halfway completed when Walker and his friend Roger Rodas lost their lives after Rodas lost control of the car in which Walker was a passenger.

"All of us at Universal are heartbroken," said the studio in a statement. "Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the FAST AND FURIOUS films, and to countless fans. We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul's family."

Paul Walker's death moves studio to postpone 'Fast & Furious 7' 'for a period of time'

Director James Wan and Universal face tough choice of awkwardly writing out a franchise lead or losing a chance for fans to say goodbye — they are reportedly considering scrapping the existing footage and proceeding from scratch.

Paul Walker gets ready to film a scene on the set of ‘Fast & Furious 7’ in Atlanta just days before his death. The movie may have to be reshot from scratch to write the actor out.

Paul Walker’s tragic death may force producers to bring “Fast & Furious 7” back to the starter’s block.

Universal Studios has shut down production on the film indefinitely as execs, producers and the cast and crew to mourn the actor who was killed Saturday with his friend, Roger Rodas, when their 2005 Porsche Carrera GT was engulfed in flames after a horrific crash.

“Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul's immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers," a rep for the studio said in a statement.

"At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise. We are committed to keeping Fast & Furious fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend Paul Walker."

The studio is also mulling scrapping the footage already filmed on the movie and starting over from scratch in the wake of the fatal car crash that claimed the life the franchise star, a source told The Wrap. Since Walker’s death is covered by insurance on the tent pole production, cost would not be a factor in the decision, The Wrap reported.
More than half of the movie had already been shot before Walker's death, but key scenes involving the 40-year-old actor remain.

Director James Wan and studio execs agreed to go on with the movie earlier in the week, according to The Hollywood Reporter, though there was no road map yet in place of how to proceed forward. There’s a lot at stake: The car chase franchise has grossed $2.38 billion worldwide to date.

Attempting to kill off his character to fit his absence in the storyline would have risk angering moviegoers by reminding them of the real life tragedy.
No matter how they proceed, it’s unlikely the film can make its planned July 11, 2014, release date. But writing Walker out completely could also upset fans who have been hoping for one last chance to celebrate Walker’s life.

NOOOO! They just DO NOT do that... They CAN'T do that. I know it may seem weird and very hard to pull off for the crew and cast, but they have to say goodbye to Walker's character in the movie, not just write him out and forget he existed! What the hell...

I'm very very sure that is what Paul Walker would've wanted too. It's the movies he is best known for and he would've wanted to get a honorable goodbye of his character, instead of just re-writing the script. Also fans (and people who knew Paul) would most certainly love to see him in the new F&F as a memory.
They don't have to kill him, that would maybe be too much, but they could maybe let him run away with his wife and let him take his time with his family, or something like that. Or they could include some awesome existing footage of the movie in the end of the film, kinda like they did in the start of F&F6.

I really hope this stupid idea will be scrapped or is just a dumb rumor.

Writing him out completely shouldn't even be an option IMO. Both Paul and his character deserve a respectful send off, as do us fans! Most will probably disagree, but I honestly think this is where they should end the F&F franchise, because it won't be the same without Paul/Brian. Just have the main characters go their own way, to live their lives and basically walk off into the sunset (so to speak), much like the ending of the very first film I guess.

This is no way shocking and I honestly hope Universal Takes their time with the Fast 7 film. I think it would be respectful for the film to open Next year on the weekend he passed this year. Just as a nod and a thank you. Just my thoughts.

I actually started a petition on change.org if you are interested please join. Who knows maybe Universal will change their decision if it gets enough votes.

https://www.change.org/petitions/universal-studios-move-the-release-date-for-fast-and-furious-7-to-11-28-2014-2#

Mods I am in no way trying to be spammy with this post Just something I created spur of the Moment and something I wanted to share with others who may feel the same way I do.

I agree Xavier. I wouldn't want them to rush F&F7 just to meet the previous release date. This movie should be a tribute and not a rush job, and I really hope they can find a way to still include Paul Walker and not cut him off completely. I don't know how they're going to do it, but I hope they will give O'Conner's storyline a decent ending in case they decide to keep going with the franchise.

Fast is pretty bg in our house hold, so we were all siting around trying to find out how to end the Brian character other than a car crash or something lame. And, to be honest, i couldn't think of anything. So , i wonder what they are cooking up.

Plus, did anyone see the story about Justin bieber taking over his role?Joke or not, i think my soul died a little. That could be a way to end the series no one would ever watch it again.

Oh my god, Bieber? I have been crushed since I heard this-barely could open my Steelbooks that came in the mail right after this horrible news. Got nothing against the kid, but come on, man.....

I personally would think that the cast members would not be able to emotionally handle him being killed off in the movie with a car wreck .
Now not knowing what they shot They could just have vin order paul to lay low with the girl and baby and not have to show paul at all on scene. Or if Vin and the cast can handle it and choose to send him off and wreck the car . We dont know and I would hate to be in the position they are in because if this gets screwed up (I know Vin and the cast will try hard) but the studio needs to see this one the money deoesnt matter. If they cant tie this up proper and rush then im out its my last one I support.

I swear whoever started this sick joke on social media should be arrested for creating mass chaos and scaring the public. Im mean that in the most serious way possible. That little **** has no right whatsover to have any ties to this franchise. HE IS THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF WHAT PAUL WAS and he is throwing his life away. Only a matter of time before he OD'S ...

This is about the cars and the people in the F&F franchise who was their from the start made what it is today and the passion people have.

I have watched many Paul Walker memorial cruises on youtube this week and the THOUSANDS of people who went and people came together to host these events amaze me how many TRULY CARE. They have videos from chicago to canada ,germany, netherlands, florida, texas, the UK and ohio. So many are passionate about cars BECAUSE of these movies...
