Here are the most wanted Steelbook releases, as voted for by members of HDN according to the 'Feedback Forum'.

The idea of this thread is to gather the information from threads in the feedback forum and present it all in one place. Studios/Retailers may take notice if our Steelbook wants are presented so clearly. The only rules are that it can not have had a Blu-ray Steelbook release before and must have a majority of yes votes. If you notice a title that is missing (or subsequently matches the criteria), then please post below with a link to the thread.

I didn't see this thread before but it's a great idea bud to get them all in one place

A.I,Bad Boy 2 and The mask have over 50 votes???

Only 16 for A Clockwork Orange and The Good, the bad and the ugly.

Some members should not have the right to vote...

well it's a steelbook forum and not a movie forum, sad for us true cineasts but gues we have to live with the fact that most people like blockbusters :p

Really? Bad Boys 2? Has the first one even sold out?
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly doesn't get any love, even though it's "considered to be one of the greatest of its genre."

The thread is not a bad idea, though I don't think the titles on the list are valid.
We clearly have more members than 50 or 75. If everyone made the effort to vote I'm sure the list would change.

I'm stuck with my collection because of that Woody :(

I have 66 steelbooks and nothing to buy anymore.

Then you need to gain more support for your favourites. Put a link in your signature or something similar, bump the thread every so often etc. I'm not compiling a list of the best films, just the most wanted titles. Most collectors tend to prefer blockbusters for Steelbooks and think certain films don't 'suit' a Steelbook release.

As I posted above, some members favour blockbusters over the so called 'classics'. It's a shame but Steelbooks have always been geared to action blockbusters more than anything else.

It's not my fault that this section doesn't attract many visits. Even though the number of votes is very small, it does give a good indication of what titles collectors want. We need to attract more users to vote/post in these threads, so direct more members here and things may improve.

Where is the love for The Lost Boys, Belly, New Jack City or Child's Play Steelbooks? I need them in my life! :hilarious:

.... Lost Boys has 50 Votes

As I said above, promote your favourites so they get more votes. Often it is a case of the thread being buried in the forum and therefore people are unlikely to vote on it

Thanks, I will add them :)

Good thread, I've checked the links and I have voted how I feel on all of them.

I've come across some posts in the last few weeks about Donnie Darko needing to be a steelbook, why haven't they released a True Lies steelbook yet and I'd buy True Romance right away on steelbook etc
This is a great place to just click on those links to make sure you have voted on the steels you really wish to see the light of day

People probably want Bad Boys 2 to go with the original. Nothing wrong with that.

And The Mask is a great movie, not to mention it could have some amazing art. It also had a budget of $18m and grossed $351m worldwide. And the cinema was much cheaper back then. What studio wouldn't want to capitalise on that kind of popularity?

I wouldn't be surprised to see A Clockwork Orange and TGTBATU at some point, there are quite a few vintage steelbooks out ATM. But just because you want a specific title, doesn't mean you have the right to tell people what they should or shouldn't vote for.

I havent seen this thread until now. Great idea, this is a good way to show whick titles are the most popular, and that there are other films which deserve the steel treatment other than Batman :p
But i agree, this thread should be sticky :)
