*PLEASE NOTE: This list is a 'guide' only and compiled based on a variety of factors including community 'feedback' and 'suggestions'. Steelbook collecting is HIGHLY SPECULATIVE, and different collectors have different ideas of 'rarity', 'limited', 'sought after', and related terms-all of which may change at the drop of a hat with re-releases, or new info.

Please visit the Steelbook forum, if you have more detailed questions regarding specific titles, and their 'current' status, as this list is 'dynamic' and changes over time. *

I posted this in another forum before but I prefer this one, so I try again here. This is an ongoing list that combines a variety of factors that may contribute to the scarcity or rarity of these Steelbooks.-Sirjump

We started off with a "ranked" list, but as many folks may rank items differently, a general "resource" list of harder to find Steelbooks/Rare titles helps the community more. Feel free to comment so we can consider adding or subtract. -Digitalbabe

:scat:Keep sharing your thoughts & together we can help the list evolve!:)

Possible criteria as to what makes a steelbook rare/hard to find:

* General interest in movie
* Availability at retailer & exclusivity
* Print run
* Country of origin & region code
* Steelcase design
* (Initial) price
* Individually numbered items
* Print Errors
* Hype
* Price on 3rd party marketplaces

This is such an awesome thread for new steelbook collector's like myself. Is there is anyway you could post and approximate value to each one of these? Maybe like a minimum-maximum value that would help me out even more. I know it is hard to value some of these. Thanks for the list it helps a ton.

Hi Slim-as the value is always changing, as the hobby progresses,we have a separate thread where you can ask what the 'current' value is. The thread is stickied (towards top) of trading forum. If you stick around and get 30+ posts you can access that part of the forum and use the thread and trading area. Thanks!

I'll be sticking around, working on the 30 posts now.

lol I remember during my journey to 30 post I've bought 14 steelbooks in my first week.... i'm on week 2 and hopefully I do better then week 1 lol ...Looks like i'm not upgrading my snowboard equipment this coming winter lol

What about American releases of G1's since that's all we are getting. Are they considered collectible? Besides the obvious of Sucker Punch. Is Fast Five desirable?

Hey Ricker, they could definitely become so. But if there are any copies in stores anywhere, or if they can still be ordered online/pickup, they're generally not considered 'rare'/harder to get. If they do become permanently out of print, and out of stick, we'll add them to the list :scat:

Hurt Locker Spanish Edition rare?

In working through this list of rare/hard to find steelbooks, and also focusing on my favorite movies first, how rare are the Hurt Locker steelbooks? I see the US Best Buy version on this list and I am wondering if the international editions are just as rare such as the Spanish and Korean ones.

The international ones aren't so rare. Good luck with the collection!

Hey Ash, those international versions are extremely nice and well worth having.

Yes I have heard but for the moment I am hunting down the rare ones first and I have secured 2 of the so-called top 20 within a month of starting this hobby - SDCC Sucker Punch and Zombieland. I am working on the US Best Buy Hurt Locker when I saw these international versions. They are taking a back seat until I close on the BB Hurt Locker. Thanks for the feedback.
